'17 MS TE Chase Rogers (Former UT commit)

Any of you folks in the Gulf Coast of Mississippi area going anywhere to watch the Appy state game a week from now? I plan on going out but would be good to watch with some Vol fans.

I'm going back home for the weekend, but next week for Bristol hell yeah

Is hybrid TE more of a receiving TE? What would Ethan Wolf's classification be iyo?

He does not run good enough to be hybrid... Jimmy Graham is a classic H-TE.. Chase runs like a running back after the catch, that is what. Coach Scott sees. Watching films of other TEs ahead of him they go down too easy.. Chase goes 5 plus yards more because they don't get a clean hit on him...

Thanks...just had never heard the classification "hybrid TE", and wondered if they had a term for the traditional types like Wolf and Witten.

TE-Y is more in the dirt... More physical ... Tre Mckitty is classified as YTE-- google Tre Mckitty ESPN and he comes up the 6th bed TE-Y... I would think he would be a H. Who knows but I think it is good to separate them because they are different. H-Y

I want to make this clear, by know means was I saying Ethan Woff is not a great TE, he is just different in comparison to Chase. Chase is more a big wr. That is classified as a TE-H. A TE-H would be used in a spread offense. Not a Alabama or LSU offense that is pro style run and play action pass

No worries or misunderstanding here. Didn't read insult in your reply. TEs have evolved and it's not common knowledge. Thanks for the info.

I could see your boy doing big things!! It has to be amazing to have your child going to college for free, and playing top notch college football. Man I would be going bonkers. Have him watch Witten tape, he could be the next one, but just Chase Rogers.

So the role I think we are all assuming that Croom is going to play this season?

St Stanislaus takes down the 2 yrs in a row 5a state champions and this years #1 5a Alabama school 49-26. Chase Rogers had a bunch of good blocks and 3 catches for 60 yards. Not big numbers but what a win.. Go Vols!!

Would Dallas Clark be a good comparison?

If you compare his film to the top few TE's in nation then you get a really good sense of how really good he is. To top it off. He is the most mentally tough 17yr old I have ever been around. I have pounded that in his mind since a small child. All big games he does great. Never fumbled in his high school career of 43 straight starts.

:ermm:
