Want everyone to understand that Mississippi has 2 parts and are very different. South Mississippi where we are from is on the coast, we have casinos and a lot like New Orleans. The rest of the state is country and think they are better than us. Jealous is maybe more like it. The coast of Mississippi is a hidden treasure!

I feel like the delta could also be considered its own part of Mississippi, too. Always got the feeling that folks from the delta only hung out with others from the delta and didn't often leave the delta.

True that! My girlfriend is from the delta. She won't bring me home to visit. I think she is scared I will embarrass her.lol

I will agree with this statement. After Hattisburg it gets rough fast. The only thing I didn't like about Biloxi was, I couldn't swim in the nasty water.

Agreed. The Delta is its own section. I would put Hattiesburg south to the coast in its own section. And then everything else together.

Spent 7 years in Jackson during the 70s. Odd times.

Last time I was on the coast was Gulfport following Katrina. Wasn't so much Hidden Treasure as Buried Treasure or Missing Treasure.

A lot has changed. Purged all the old places and built new bigger and better. This is where I grew up, a special place indeed!

I did some fishing. But the Californian in me wanted to swim in the water. But our safety brief when we got there dashed all hopes of that. There was some nice senic views though

5 miles out south of the islands it gets blue. Murky water is great for fishing tho
