'17 MS TE Chase Rogers (Former UT commit)

Please consider that some things are better left unsaid on a public forum.

Why should he leave things unsaid? Chase's dad has almost made it his mission to put all of his son's business out in the open. He's been pretty open with his bad mouthing our coaches, so I strongly believe with the other poster who said there are TWO sides to every story.

Please show me where he is badmouthing coaches, maybe I missed it? Actually, he has shown class about the process, are you saying the coaches have shown class in this situation?

I'm just saying if you want to cut bait, then do it, have some class about yourself to give that kid an opportunity to look elsewhere. Don't just ignore the kid and leave him twisting in the wind. They didn't ignore him when they wanted him to commit, did they?

It's obvious what his agenda was. Why did he come to this board and divulge personal stuff about his son's recruitment? To voice his displeasure with the staff that's why. He chose to let it be known who he was, so in my opinion he opened the door to let the way he handled be criticized.

I really enjoyed being on Vol Nation. I think I am crazy like most of you on here and have felt the love. This is less about another school and more about what Tenn has done. We have had one text in 3 weeks.. Best interest for us to step back. We are greatful for Tenn and because of that Chase has had this rate increase. Thanks again

I wish nothing but the best for Chase and your family. I appreciate you being here and sharing with us. I do trust our coaching staff, but, I will admit, that this one is crazily puzzling to me.

The only thing that is said here that is contingent is being the only TE in the class.

I appreciate how hard you want to fight that our staff is complete scum bags when it comes to this subject of dropping recruits by just ignoring them but you have followed this too long to believe that isn't the Case now man.

I don't have time to go back and find the post but he said the staff told him there were other TEs that were higher on the board and led them to belive that if the right one came along his spot may be up for grabs. The only thing don't agree with in this case is not being man enough to pick up the phone and call them and tell them that he needs to look at other options.

I appreciate how how you work to Throw this staff under the bus at every opportunity. Mr. Rogers seems to know how this game is played and seems to give TN some credit for helping Chase get on the radar allowing him to have opportunities he may not have had otherwise.

All he's said is the coaches haven't contacted them. How's that bad mouthing? If you think that is bad mouthing then you must think cutting off communication is a crappy way of cutting kid loose, same as I do.

I posted the post your fairy tale contingent over was supposedly said in. It doesn't say that and that is clear. You read what you wanted to read.

The only contingent thing he said was Rogers was in the top 3 and if none of the others ahead of him jumped on board he would be the only TE recruit. That was the only thing said but keep on fighting the fight of this staff never tells a lie in recruiting.

Here it is again if you want to read it closely.

I am very schooled on the process. I asked Coach Scott where Chase was in the pecking order to get a feel for stability with the offer. He understands I am a man of my word and he is also. He said Chase was top 3. He told me that he would worry in months to come after offering Chase. Others will notice what he found in Chase. He flew into town 8 weeks ago and told us, Chase maybe his only TE this class if a few targets fall away. McKitty was one he wanted. They contact Chase 6 days a week to touch base. Don't think he is at risk of being pushed out...

Of course we getting a bias side of things are we? How do we know the dad has told us everything? Any dad is going to make his son look good. I am not saying he bad mouthed anyone, I am speaking about the one sided conversation we are getting from dad. How do we know what was said between the two parties when they were talking? Again, just thinking if his dad had never come on here and told his side of things and he decommited we all would have wondered what happen but doubt we would have been this invested in this kid. We would have said things like, "we must be on other TE's." All I am saying we have heard from dad only and there is two sides to each stories.

Oh yeah. Lets not talk about screwing over long time commitments and dropping them without even a phone call, that way we can continue screwing over recruits without even a phone call. Shhhh! Don't talk about it.

Good luck to Chase and his dad. I still hope things work out that you come to UT but if not I hope your son does well wherever he ends up.

If the dad was trying to be critical of our coaches he sure isn't doing a very good job when he has ample opportunity to do so. All he said is the coaches quit communicating with them. I tend to believe that.

Once again, I wasn't speaking about weather or not he was bad mouthing the couches, just exactly how much of the other side of the conversation we aren't getting concerning the communication thing.

Quit being a douche. He has been respectful and offered insight.

Another reason why family members on the forum can turn out badly. Now we are arguing over how it was handled hearing exactly one side of the story.

This post reeks of unsurety. Read the bold. The dad knew this was a possibility. He knew if they found someone they liked better that he may lose his spot. Keep trying though, I enjoy your hate.

The bolded statements don't fit his agenda. Bruin, are you an ex-coach, who worked under Butch at some point? You seem to have a personal vendetta against him.

Yes, his shtick gets old. If the coaches just quit communicating with the kid, as the dad says, in hopes he'd get the message, I do think that's a spineless way of doing it.
