'17 NC DE Matthew Butler (UT Signee)

After racking up 65 tackles, 10 sacks & 20 TFL his junior year, Butler took his game to another level this year with 89 tackles, 25 sacks, 25 TFL & 32 QB hurries in 12 games. Garner HS doesn't count sacks as TFL so if the reported numbers are correct, 56% of Butler's tackles were for negative yardage.

Wow!...those are crazy numbers. Is this guy another Barnett?

There is a comment about Justin Foster that everyone was complaining that we didn't get and committed to Clemson. He wants to play LB but it was noted that we told him he was better suited be a DE. The article states he is not "fluid or quick enough for the position" and that he "showed natural pass rushing ability and was able to beat offensive tackles consistently". When will we learn to trust our coaches and the recruiting staff?

On Justin Foster:

Clemson commit Justin Foster insists he is a linebacker at 6-foot-4, 250-pounds and that is where the Shelby (N.C.) Crest lined up most of the day. He simply is not fluid or quick enough for the position. However, Foster took limited reps as a defensive end where he showed natural pass rushing ability and was able to beat offensive tackles consistently.

Goes to show why UT stopped recruiting him much.

EDIT - got Swansoned by glichten.

I thought it was important to point that out too Lynx. Our staff can evaluate better than some would like to believe.

We also gave him a shot at QB before he moved to WR. We flat out told Foster he was a DE. Slightly different.

I am also glad that we took Jennings. Dude is a monster.
