'17 TN ATH Jacoby Stevens (LSU commit)

And yet...here you are, wandering around in here. And BB is BreakerBoy.:)

Uhhhh, yeah. Public forum. Here I am, wandering through a thread 2 weeks later cause, like I said, really no reason to come here every other day like I tend to do for guys like Akers or Corker, guys we actually have at least a puncher's chance to land.

Kidding..

While I sort of agree with you, I also get the inference of calling him Lyle instead of Butch. The name Butch conjures images of tough, no nonsense Marine drill sergeant types. The name Lyle conjures images of an effete Milquetoast type. They think Butch has no real fortitude, so they call him his given name Lyle. Is it petty and immature? Sure it is. But we all are at some point. Especially since we are on a fanatic Vol open message forum. It is basically a bunch of overgrown Boys and a few cool girls messing around. So in essence...Lighten up Francis.:) Other posters have had to tell me that a few times myself.

Marines are called Drill Instructors not Drill Sergeants. See, in the Marine Corps we actually call our NCO's and Staff NCO's by their rank. A Sergeant is exactly that. A Staff Sergeant is exactly that. A Gunnery Sergeant is exactly that. We don't lump them all under a single umbrella of Sergeant like other branches do. Therefore we don't use the term Drill Sergeant, because those Drill Instructors could be of varying ranks.

Oh....and I never knew any of my Drill Instructors first names. For all I know, one of them may have been named Lyle. Wouldn't have mattered...in boot camp, I was afraid of all of them.

Alrighty then..no harm or disrespect intended to the Marines. I actually used Marine because I consider them the toughest SoBs of any regular service anywhere in the world.

I was just messing with you (although what I said is true). I knew what your intended point was. :)

You keep saying this but it's just not true.

He's not coming here but this verbiage only serves to ignite animosity towards a great young man who has done nothing but handle himself with class.

Was taking to coach Creasy's father in law today and he was telling me what a good kid Jacoby is.

Ok..He really doesn't give a crap about UT...Is that better? Like I said earlier. He hasn't played stupid games with UT, I appreciate that. I don't have any animosity toward him.

Very respectful. Always "yes sir no sir".

The complete opposite of what I envision a 5* player's attitude and ego is after the recruiting process.

I'm a JaCoby fan

I don't think saying he hates TN is being disrespectful. I don't think less of him, if he does. I've said all along he had something against the Vols. I don't know why I think that, probably just a feeling. He probably just doesn't have the confidence the TN will ever be a contender.

I take your word that he's a good kid.

We had a shot when we hired Shoop. I think he has always had LSU number 1. The instability with Les and staff made him look around. I don't think he hates UT. I think UT has been the most unstable program during his recruitment though. Even now articles being written about Jones having to win the bowl (which is bogus).

If Orgeron keeps his defensive staff together JaCoby will go to LSU. If there is any doubt he's going to Bama IMO.

If he goes to Bama he better be good with disappearing for a few years. Guys like him are a dime a dozen to them and are stacked up like cordwood.

Wasn't there an article on tos that had Stevens saying things like "I wish Tennessee would let me visit"? Maybe I dreamed that or something idk. But if he did say things like that, knowing that he doesn't want to come here, what does that say about him?

Well they say Tee grew up a fan and was committed. Sounds like his heart lost faith in CBJ ran program....I dunno

He decommitted and committed to Clemson well before the season began. Vols were looking prime for a breakout year at that point in time, so clearly it wasn't that
