'17 TN ATH Jacoby Stevens (LSU commit)

Thing is it's never been about the coach for this kid. He's been all LSU from birth.

I can't believe this

Interesting although Les has been the coach down there for 11-12 years. A HS junior would have no recollection of LSU w/o Miles as the HC.

Wow! This is completely unbelievable! Not saying we have a shot, but Butch has plenty of time to make this happen now.

I think we can get back in it. We're the in state school. We were his first offer, and he has a former teammate on the team. If we continue to recruit him hard and get him on campus a few times, we should have a shot. Especially if we continue our improvement on the field.

I'd be willing to bet he recommits to LSU as long as they hire a halfway decent coach.

Would Jimbo fit that description?

To me he seems like a pretty underwhelming hire. I wasn't too excited about him when his name was being tossed out there for our opening

Oakland junior JaCoby Stevens chose to reopen his college football recruitment Tuesday, decommitting from LSU due to the uncertain future of coach Les Miles.

"(Miles' future) played a huge part of it," Stevens told The Daily News Journal on Tuesday night. "Going into my commitment and why I chose LSU, I envisioned playing under Les Miles and his coach staff. Now that I'm not sure if they are going to be there when I get there, I want to reopen my recruitment."
