The Al Wilsons, Ronnie Lotts, and Jack Tatums of the world would be fined into poverty in this day and age.
Yeah I know what you mean. One of the worst calls that was upheld I've ever seen, except the 4th and short that the refs overturned for Vandy that allowed them to score the game winning TD.
I had almost completely forgotten about that reversal against Vandy. There is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY that they could tell what that QB's forward progress was on that play. No way. They handed Franklin the win with that BS.
I agree that by the letter of the rule the play shouldn't have been overturned, but the only way that wasn't a first down is if the QB was carrying the ball behind his back. Still, it's Vandy and there's no excuse for us putting the game in a position where the ref could decide it.
Why? Bad exactly how to you quantify that to "factor in?
Hall of fame is determined by on filed results - not in locker room results
*field
So do you let murderers or rapists in if they had great on field results? I think it's about who represented the league well, which would include on and off the field.
