17 TN DB Theo Jackson (UT signee)

He changed games in a similar way. There hasn't been a safety as good as EB overall in college. IMO

Ramsey dominated though and we haven't seen a DB recently that controlled games like him. That's the point I was making.
Jamal Adams at LSU is probably the best I've seen in the SEC since berry (not as good though). Derwin James has a lot of potential too. Was just a freshman last year

Don't forget Ronnie Harrison at Alabama. He was a freshmen last year but looks like the real deal.

glad they didnt skip on this kid from Overton.
thought the staff really mucked up the Ugo Amadi recruitment. He woulddve been a nice player.

This totally isn't true. Ugo wanted in at UT, but there was no room for him since the staff was taking Justin Martin. Ugo and his family has nothing but positive things to say about Butch & Co, but just ended up at Oregon. Ugo went to Oregon because of playing time and got that last season.

I'll take your word for it, and he might have been a Vol if we had made him more of a priority, but I remember him seeming a little salty. Especially when we pulled Phillips.

Jalen Ramsey couldn't carry Eric Berry's jock-strap. My goodness. One of the most ridiculous statements I've ever heard.

Ramsey did 14 reps of 225 at the combine. While that's not a ridiculous number it does tell me that Berry could see significant benefit from finding a lighter jock strap.

Yeah you must didn't watch him take over games for FSU as a Sophomore. Junior year he was moved to CB and it was a shame. Kid made big plays as a freshman and was the best playmaker on defense in all of college football his second year. Berry is the GOAT of college safeties. IMO But don't act like Ramsey was a joke. Made plays blitzing and in coverage.

No one is saying Ramsey's a joke.

He's simply not in the same class as Eric Berry.

I remember. Ramsay was a nightmare in the nickel role. That was how he made his money, was that year.

Theo Jackson could play a similar role for us. He'd have to beat out Osborne though.

Do you think Theo can be a CB, straight up??

He's not a joke. Just saying he is not Eric Berry.

IIRC, he's being recruited as a S.

No I see a safety. A fast athletic one though. Could be an eraser on the backend. Range would be sick.

SN: Still think the best safety on the team plays WR.

For the record I think the staff does a good job at recruiting .
I remember them slow playing Amadi and in the end he didnt care for it and went to Oregon.
Point is NAS Overton is going to have a D1 player at least every other year so hopefully Martin and Jackson help make that an inroad for the program.
