You guys don't want this kid because he got homesick about as far away in the USA from home as he could possibly go and then changed his mind? Dang, the kid is 17. We loved it when Jones came back from colorado tho, right? 🤔

Jones is from Cali. Before I left for my freshman year at UT, my Dad told me that almost everyone gets homesick at some point after leaving home. You just go from being with family to being on your own, no matter how far you go. He said it's natural, and you deal with it. Most people eventually become comfortable with their surroundings.

Yeah its pretty normal and we all go through it. I went to Oregon after living in Alaska with a tight group of friends for 10+ years and my parents moved back to Tennessee. You get over it if you stick it out. I would think football would help with that.

We all wanted him when he committed to Oregon. I think that he is still just as good a prospect now as he was then and he knows he has to spend a redshirt year now to get stronger. If we have room, I would love to give him a shot on our team. F Vandy.

I see your point, but it's not like he went to UGA or Ole Miss. he went to Oregon. I would imagine that is a complete culture shock for almost anyone from the south much less a seventeen year old. If it has to do with a girl or something then I'd say toughen up. The likely hood of that lasting is slim to none. Hell I broke up with my girlfriend when I graduated because I was going to play ball like an hour away and didn't want to be tied down, but I'm shallow so there you go.

I wasn't assuming any reason why he was leaving Oregon. Do we actually know being homesick is the reason or is that just speculation?

Anyway, I don't want to take a spot away from this class. Not sure how the numbers work or anything. I just think he is average as a DL.

The homesick wasn't the point with Jones. It's that he transferred and a month later changed his mind and we were all happy about it. And yet we're questioning this kid for doing basically the same thing? I think you guys are pre-programming your narrative in case he goes to Vandy

Nope and I don't know why he is leaving so it is all hyperbole but if its because he is homesick its weak sauce and we don't need it. If it is something else then that is a different story.

Maybe some of us just don't think he is that great and not worth a spot with the way recruiting is going right now. Why does it always have to be about a "narrative" on here? Why can't I just have an opinion that has nothing to do with freaking candy?

And if he chooses the Vols everyone will be in here booming. Typical VN. Let's get the narrative out that he's soft in case he chooses Vandy, but if he chooses the Vols, well, he realized he made a mistake in not choosing the Vols in the first place!

Are you not reading these posts about him being soft and sounds like he's suited for Vandy etc?

also, he was a top 10 DT recruited by Brady Hoke, our DL coach, to Oregon. But yeah, he's probably not any good
