'17 TN DL Rutger Reitmaier (Oregon commit)

Are you not reading these posts about him being soft and sounds like he's suited for Vandy etc?

also, he was a top 10 DT recruited by Brady Hoke, our DL coach, to Oregon. But yeah, he's probably not any good

It's MY opinion. I don't care what anyone says about him. I have no "narrative". If he decides to play for the VOLS I hope I'm wrong and he is great.

And if he chooses the Vols everyone will be in here booming. Typical VN. Let's get the narrative out that he's soft in case he chooses Vandy, but if he chooses the Vols, well, he realized he made a mistake in not choosing the Vols in the first place!

Just stop with the narrative bs.

Want. Just want to let that be know. Lol

Agreed. If Hoke wanted him at Oregon, he's a good player. Hope Hoke can get him here. Can't have enough Depth on the DL. Now if the choice is between him and Mustipher, I'd take Mustipher. But if we can't get him and he goes to PSU or somewhere, then get this kid

Y'all are missing the point. See above post

Maybe your point would have been more relevant if he had even made it to Fall camp? Even then he'd still need to work his butt off during a redshirt season while a fellow signee is the primary backup to the starter for this comparison to work. I don't think anyone without orange blinders could find fault with Sheriron after the first OR second transfers.

Nobody knows as per ushe on volnation.

Whoa, whoa, whoa! We don't need to actually know anything. We don't need any facts or relevant info. We have opinions to share here! Very very important opinions! Get out of here with us needing to use facts to back up what we are talking about. Take that garbage back to your university. Oh wait....

How long to Jones last at Colorado before changing his mind and coming back to TN? It really doesn't matter, if he chooses the Vols I look forward to seeing all the booms. If he doesn't, I look forward to the "he was soft anyway" comments that will certainly come

You're just saying that in case he chooses the VOLS. Just trying to get that narrative out there. You will say you didn't want him anyway if he chooses candy

The homesick wasn't the point with Jones. It's that he transferred and a month later changed his mind and we were all happy about it. And yet we're questioning this kid for doing basically the same thing? I think you guys are pre-programming your narrative in case he goes to Vandy

Actually Reitmeier enrolled at Oregon in January and has completed his first full semester and maybe a summer semester. He also went through spring practice.

It has been reported on some sites that he is leaving because he is homesick and wants to be closer to home, but he has not come out and said this in an official statement.

This is nothing like the Sherrion Jones situation.

Good grief. The point was Jones went to Colorado and changed his mind and came back and we were all happy. This kid went to Oregon, changed his mind, and people calling him soft. That's the comparison, no more, no less

1) Couple months...why does that matter?

2) Odd thing to enjoy...each their own.

But Sheriron...signed with us? This kid didn't. WHY would we call a kid who came back to us TO COMPETE, "soft"? And that after redshirting in OUR PROGRAM for a season. Now if Sheriron had transferred BEFORE his first season and THEN tried to return...aw hell...what's on TV?

Sanford and Son, its the one where Redd thinks he is having a heart attack.

🙄, let's just move on already. If Hoke wants this kid I hope we get him

I see your point, but it's not like he went to UGA or Ole Miss. he went to Oregon. I would imagine that is a complete culture shock for almost anyone from the south much less a seventeen year old. .

I mean I get it, but isn't that what the recruiting process is for, for both him and his family? It's not like he didn't take a bunch of visits out there or know about Oregon's well established reputation of being very "different". Plus, he still decided to sign with them after the entire coaching staff that originally recruited him was gone.

Regardless, my original point was in "most" cases when things go down like this it usually doesn't work out too well long-term for said player. I know I'm generalizing and this could be an exception to the norm, but to me it's a red flag.

I get why it's concerning, but we don't even know the story. Maybe he doesn't like the coaching staff? Maybe something happened out there to make him believe he's made a bad decision. Who knows. Maybe someone in his family is sick and he wants to be close to them. Could be any number of things
