That fence around the state crap is to appease the fans.

What a coach should say: I dont care where you live, we will be the best and if you are the best im coming for you...im breaking down fences to recruit the best!...im looking for volunteers to battle for Tennessee!

Disagree. It's very important to get the best players out of your own state imho. As I've heard Doug Mathews and others say, if you can't get your state's best players, it makes recruiting the better out of state players more difficult, because they notice and start asking questions about why those players, who should know the program best, don't want to go there.

I get your point in general, go get the best players no matter where they are. But as Mathews and others have said, it should be easier to get your instate guys, and if they don't commit, the out of state guys take notice.

We've been successful doing it in the past, we will again if we are smart.

Im just saying if you come out with that message in state recruiting becomes less of an issue thus no negative perception.

If you really do have these kid's best interest in mind then, you need to stay off the forums and just do your job. You sound very butt hurt.

This is my last time asking this, but how am i butt hurt? I'm very confused as to what I'm supposed to be butt hurt about. All of our kids go to college and are qualified to do so. We don't train only for them to go to UT despite that being my favorite and Buck's school in which he graduated from. We've contributed 3 kids to UT who played in the NFL and were on rosters, and multiple who hv contributed to UT. Ppl get mad @ us and blame us for things we don't do. I don't have to stay off any message board but i am considering dropping this one really soon. Lots of ppl identify or hear the issues and spk on and labeled wrong vs the pundits who need to fix the wrong that's being done. Haney is wrong, K. Mc is wrong, NPA is wrong, C. Miller is wrong, Swain is wrong, Deuce White was wrong ( totally innocent), etc etc. I guarantee you couldn't find 1 person(athlete or parent) that would ever say we steered them anywhere. But hey we are the bad guys we accept it and move on 😂😂😂

I hope you keep posting on this site. I'm sure you are an adult and realize most posts on here come from teenagers or freshmen in college who couldn't get a date to the prom. just continue to give your opinion and pay no attention to them

In previous posts on Phillips you said his former HS coach was responsible for spreading false info which turned UT off. Are you still saying that was the main factor?

Thig and Butch misses her. Like Dodson last year. IMO the reset after next season will do a lot more good then bad. Butch has burned a lot of bridges in Memphis too.

Even after I told them about TD, Shawn Jefferson the titans Wr coach @ the time and 1e yr vet told them this kid is an NFL future talent. They still slow played him and only to lose him to aTm where he played as a true freshman. I'll say this Mempis is gonna Memphis. So its not only CBJ it's probably a little both.

Yeah initially but as was said likewise they had plenty of East film and time to reevaluate. The rest of the country was not offering because of nothing.

Just saying that, in your position, you shouldn't get to caught up in what fans think. Being here and interacting as you do, I would think that it is hard not to carry these thoughts with you into your daily routine. Sorry bout the butt hurt comment, shouldn't have said that.

The thing is I hv always loved UT when our kids go to UT I love it. I hv bn on Volnation for a while even before I posted as frequent as I do now. I'm a person in which the ppl on here can't influence that in which I do. Our decisions cm strictly off of fit and preference via the kids and their offers.
Just to fill you in on NPA we do charge a monthly fee those monies pay for facilities, coaches, apparel, vans when we attend camps out of town, paying coaches or guest, etc. We don't live off of it as some speculate.

Says the guy who's income is tied to in state recruiting.

Newt let me explain to you really clear. My income is not based on recruiting. My income is based around Anointed Handz Barbershop. Stop assuming and ask if there's something you want or feel you need to know. I work a full time job through self employment and i absolutely hv never had any knd of Cecil Newton happenings in my life.

Can someone explain why de1 is now a bad guy? I'm lost

The same reason you and I are. We don't go along with the sunshine pumpers. It really started with the Gray thread and de1 saying he's overrated. TBH based off Gray's production he is overrated but I think he was part of a terrible team/system. I wouldn't want to try either.
