'17 TN OL/DT Trey Smith (UT commit 12/6/2016)

I know recruiting is about to take a nosedive(even worse than its been this year), but I hope Trey wants to be a Vol in spite of the lame duck staff. Don't worry kid, you'll like the next coach too.

The drove saban around town its over....lol i do feel like bama has surged.. .we will find out soon enough. I also think our style of play recently is being down played.he stated he loves bama is about winning and everyone knows their role. This is going to be tough sell. He is just goi g to have to want to come to ut for ut and not for winning football

People forget how important relationships are in recruiting. Obviously winning games are important but it's hard for me to see him anywhere but Tennessee when his sister works here

I think he ends up picking up that tennessee hat. Butch fizzled out at the end of this year, but I do still think he will close strong in recruiting. He always does

I think he's a Vol. I also think he knows Butch won't be his coach for long. Any recruit who chooses UT now knows the Butch days are numbered.

I don't think recruits honestly feel that way. Fans feel that way, but I think players and recruits still believe they can turn this around. I mean you probably don't commit to a school thinking this guy won't be my head coach next year, because 80% of recruits won't commit under those types of circumstances.

Sometimes it is just the school, the program, and all that. Especially with instate kids. With the way we've been missing on top TN kids, maybe it looking like Butch days are numbered has them taking another look at staying instate.

"Butch Jones was in the office all day but heads out tomorrow to see Trey Smith in what will be a pivotal visit. We still don't know where Smith is leaning at this point so that makes this weekend all the more important."

Is he visiting this weekend? Good news that we get last visit but hard to ignore that we are going up two teams that are in the playoffs and he mentioned preseason that he wanted to see TN take the next step on the field.

It will all be about Butch selling that we are close and the injuries on D were the main thing that derailed the season, and also OL issues/playing time.

It can be done.
