'17 TN OL/DT Trey Smith (UT commit 12/6/2016)

And he has recently been quoted as saying he thought he knew where he was going but now isn't sure. Sounds like he was all Vol and is rethinking it to me.

Just trying to add drama, the whole, "I'm going to shock the world" preannouncement. And then, they never do. Vol

Butch and several coaches were seen tonight by several of my friends and patients at Flat Iron Grill here in Jackson. They were sitting down with Trey and his whole family. All said they wanted to say hello but we're still mad at Butch. Lol

Wait what

Now this is just IMO...Kids been UT all along. Considering others? Sure, who wouldn't at his age. Enjoy the process young man. I do know his sisters twitter page is all UT Vols and she is basically like his mom since their mom passed away.

My confidence level was a 10 but this makes me worry. You don't go all out like this for a player that has been in the bag for as long as I had thought.

I am a little concerned, but even if he is in the bag, you still pull out all the stops for a guy like this. I know it is not a lock, and I am nervous (so I guess more than a little concerned), but know that we gave our best. It would be a coup for Coach Jones if he gets him as it would be head to head to head against two of the best programs in the country.

I am not saying you do nothing but if what Brice is saying means sending the entire staff like we have seen before you don't spread yourself that thin if you know you have him.

I am thrilled that the staff is going all out on this recruit after what happened with Tee Higgins.

When it involves your #1 target, you want him to know he's your #1 target, so you treat him as such. You don't minimize your presentation to him because you believe it's a foregone conclusion.

Anything less suggests you take things for granted, and that's not a great impression for a kid who'd be the prize of any recruiting class.

I respect this and agree. My confidence is still less than before.

I'll probably be slaughtered for posting this but this is a text from my West TN friends (I'm from there originally) and they follow UT as much as anyone.

From the guy here at work...

Just talked to Jack Peel at USJ. Butch was there yesterday but Trey Smith's uncle told their head coach last night that Trey was going to Ohio State. Brian Kelly was there Monday and Trey let him know wasn't coming to Notre Dame. Huge Freeze will be there at noon today.

For some reason, I don't believe this one bit. Hubbs has stated that we're still much in it as much as anyone. He still thinks Trey ends up at Tennessee. Being close to his sister will play a big part in his decision more than you think. Probably one of the main reasons why Butch hired her.
