'17 TN OL/DT Trey Smith (UT commit 12/6/2016)

It's a half an hour difference. Definitely not "a lot closer"

Per Garmon GPS....Jackson, TN to 17th St exit in Knoxville via I-40 is 309.8 miles. Jackson TN to Tuscaloosa, AL via US Hwy 45 is 228.6.........that's a difference of 81.2 miles.....that's more than a 30 min. drive. In fact, it's well over an hour's drive.
GOSH!! That's a lot!!! :shades:

From USJ (his high school) to UT it's 4 hours 42 minutes. From USJ to UA it's 4 hours 3 minutes.
39 minutes is not a lot

From Jackson to Knox you are on I-40 the whole way. I've made that drive hundreds of times. There is not an interstate that you can drive 80 on the way to Tuscaloosa from Jackson. Its county highways and small towns the whole way. It's a difference of maybe 45 minutes.. if that.

CBJ is scheduled to speak at a local college right outside of Jackson on Friday night. I bet that he pays Mr. Smith a visit. They will probably discuss the difference in driving from Jackson to Knoxville and Tuscaloosa and then eat peanut butter sandwiches with hot sauce.

Butch will never refer to Tuscaloosa in a sentence...assuming, of course, that the conversation is not about cow dung.

Can someone please explain why Trey Smith is the 5th overall player in the country on ESPN but still is only a 4*? Have they not updated their rankings yet?

Drove it over Christmas and there really wasn't any construction. Has it popped back up? After Dallas and the Beirut they have going on there everything else is a cakewalk.

Thanks. Last time I drove across it was better as well.

I heard from a "decent source" today, that Ole Miss isn't on his list anymore?

That's cool. Are you currently a student or an alum? I don't know that I could pay to hear hrs of "coach speak" from CBJ. If you don't mind, how much were the tickets? I know that Peyton is going to speak there on December 2nd and heard that the tickets were $150 each. Could be a rumor on the price but I'm just curious.

You can get on a waiting list for tickets at 150 each if there are any sponsorship tickets unsold. Sponsorships start at 600 for one ticket and dinner.

I'm a current student. Tickets were free for students

That's 81.2 miles as the crow flies, not as the bammer road drives. I-40 from Jackson to
Knoxville is one of the prettier drives in the entire interstate highway system.

Who would you guys rather get? Smith or Higgins? Gibbs or Stevens?

And "both" or "yes" isn't an answer but I would totally agree.
