'17 TN OL/DT Trey Smith (UT commit 12/6/2016)

I think it comes down to Tennessee and Alabama imo. If we beat them and win the SEC title, I think we land Trey.

He seems to be a bright kid with a good head on his shoulders. I believe he'll make the best decision for himself.

I believe CDM is helping him make the right decision.

As for Trey Smith in Jackson, he's keeping things close to the vest. While Tennessee, Clemson and Alabama remain your best bets, Notre Dame really has his attention and can't be counted out at this early stage as well.

Smith, again, seems in no hurry to make a decision.

Four players earned invitations to The Opening in Beaverton, Oregon, in July. The four are, from left, linebacker Josh Ross, cornerback Amir Riep, safety Jaylen Kelly-Powell and offensive tackle Trey Smith.
Highlights and Analysis from The Opening Chicago Regional | Bleacher Report

Alpha Dog

Trey Smith is going to be a five-star on 247Sports, it's just a matter of how high. He's got a case as the No. 1 player in the country. The University School of Jackson (Tenn.) prospect was good this time last year, good enough to earn an invite to The Opening Finals as an underclassman. He's a lot better this year. He's bigger than last year, his punch is bringing more force, he's even more athletic with the added size, his feet and balance remain and he's starting to morph into a guy that sets the tone for an entire position group. His performance on Saturday was the top offensive line showing that I've seen this year on the Nike Camp circuit. Alabama, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Clemson, Tennessee and Notre Dame are among the host of schools chasing.

Trey has that look in his eye like, I want to annihilate some defensive linemen.

ESPN leading the way?

Now the number 3 player in the nation by 247

Trey Smith takes the top spot at offensive tackle

Favorite quote from the article:
The most exciting evolution of Smith's game though is his nasty streak...Smith is looking to dominate every rep and he carries himself with the kind of confidence that you expect out of the best in the country. He's developed some bully in him.

Should we ask for some of the Jackson Alums to pony up, or is this not the correct venue????

sorry, but I am closer to ole miss than UTK (only geographically)

JUST KIDDING!!!

In all honesty, I would love to have another Jackson citizen do well for the VOLS.

My first vote is Al Wilson, but there have been many more.

There are some UT alums in his ear. Trust me.
