Man, I wonder who this camp could be targeting?

"Smith, 6-6 and 300 pounds, is being pursued by Alabama, Ole Miss, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Mississippi State and Kentucky, among others, and has had a busy spring with visits."

Thanks for mentioning the home state school as one of the schools pursuing Smith, USA Today.

Oh wait...

You mean the school that he'll be attending the next 3 years right?

i have confidence in CBJ in getting Trey Smith. The future QBs at Tennessee are passers. We need to keep them upright.

Hypothetical situation:
Would you rather have Trey Smith and lose Tee Higgins to an OOC school like Clemson, or land Higgins and lose Smith to an every year rival like Bama?

Hard choice. Smith and Higgens are 1A and 1B. I guess I would choose Smith. Play-makers can't make plays if you aren't strong up front. Plus, I would consider Smith's area a bigger recruiting hotbed. Build a strong foundation for future recruits.

Give me Trey, though I'd hate to pick just one. Both are special and I hope they both suit up for Tennessee.

Thanks, but I'll take both!!! Every one of the top instate recruits will be a challenge because of the depth of talent. CBJ and staff just need to keep working and selling the program.

I would hate to lose Tee, but I like that you specified in your post that losing him meant his going to an out of conference school. That wouldn't be a fun prospect, but we could tolerate the loss.
On the other hand; losing Trey.......perhaps the best O tackle prospect to ever come out of TN, to an every yr conference opponent would be a galling thing to have happen.
According to guys like Hubbs, Callaghan, and Brice, we're actually in pretty good shape with both Higgins and Smith. I wish they were saying the same things about Stevens, Chandler, Gray, and Richardson.....they are not though.
But, winning changes things, if we win big this fall; things will turn out alright recruiting wise.

I think I would rather have Higgins given our current roster situation. We just signed a lot of OTs last year that will most likely redshirt plus Drew and Chance are young as well. Trey could still come in and be the best lineman we have, but we need another real difference maker at WR.

Give me Trey. He is one of the best, if not the best, OL in the country this year. Games are won in the trenches, and we're a running football team.
