Knowing that ESPN typically rates O-line the highest. I wouldn't be surprised to see Cade Mays #1, would be pretty cool to have the #1 player in the country 2 years in a row..... Even if it is on ESPN
I don't think you have to have a strong personality to recruit peers if you are the #1 player in that nation on two separate sites :hi:
And having them both be from TN is cool, too. While it may not be the best scouting source, ESPN is a bigger source for sports coverage than the other sites by a huge margin. Getting the number 1 from ESPN is certainly a big deal from purely a publicity standpoint. ESPN will run a segment about it on Sportscenter. You won't see that for the #1 on 24/7 or Rivals, and ESPN gets WAY more eyes. Good all around in my opinion.
I disagree. No scouting service is perfect but imo ESPN is the best at rating players.
The have an actual NFL talent evaluator break down the film and help rate players. They mainly rank guys based on their film and performance at the all-american games. They don't just rate guys based on performances in shorts at their camps.
I personally find ESPN to be the best at the scouting.
Man Tony, when you're convinced, you're an advocate.
Kristy, I'm not the only one on here that's a serious advocate for 247 Sports either. Just keep watching for other posters in the recruiting section & you will see. ESPN isn't bad. Rivals & Scout aren't bad. It's just that 247 Sports is the "most" reliable source of them all.
I won't even say 247's rating is best. 247's rating is separate from the composite. 247 kind of let me down with the quick 300 spot bump for Lewis in about 8 hrs after committing. I don't buy it for a second a staff member stayed up through the night and reevaluated 20-25 QBs to make sure CJ Lewis was accurately ranked. That said, the composite being the average of the 4 major sites seems the most reasonable to me.

I wouldn't necessarily say that ESPN has the best rankings, but they do a good job with their write ups usually. Scout has also always done a good job with breaking down the targets.
Neither of those sites are my go to for class rankings though. Honestly, the only reason I care about class rank from any site though is for perception. I trust Butch as an evaluator of talent.
