Im kind of narrowing it down to a few schools, but I dont know, man, said Eze, who's ranked the nations No. 213 overall prospect and No. 26 offensive tackle in the 247Sports Composite for the 2017 class. I couldnt tell you that Im going to commit before the season, and I couldnt tell you I (wont) before the season. Im just trying to step back and let it play in front of me.
He said he still hears from Auburns coaches a lot, and the same goes for Tennessee, which has continued to make him a high priority since hosting him for its satellite camp last month at Tennessee State University in Nashville.
I talk to them and text them, Eze said, adding that he talks to everybody on the Vols staff, including coach Butch Jones. Theyre trying to get me back up there to visit, but I dont think Im going to do it (soon). My next visit will probably be just a game.
Eze said Tennessees alumni network is among the reasons hes still taking a hard look at the Vols. I feel like, when you play for Tennessee, it feels like youre playing for everybody, man, he said. Tennessees home. It would feel like playing in front of my parents not my biological parents. But Ive always felt special about Tennessee always.
I wouldnt say that Im a fan of any college, but if I was to choose one, I would probably be a fan of theirs. Its probably because I live here and everything around me and everybody around me is Tennessee. Weve got an emblem of Tennessee in my high school, and thats the only college weve got in my high school. Everything around me is Tennessee, so thats probably why. And Ive gotten to know the coaches, and theyre pretty cool.
He said Tennessee offensive line coach Don Mahoney and the rest of the Vols staff have continued to tell him that theyre going to develop me into the best player I can become.
