'17 TN OT Obinna Eze (Memphis commit)

Nope, just using common sense, higher rated prospect wants in, lower rated prospect finds new home, it's really a basic formula.

Dumbest statement of the day . I will take our coaches opinion over some guys that has never played football . 247 and rivals are a joke imo

It really is that simple. Eze is ranked 202 and Tucker is rated 697. It would be crazy to not take Eze.

It's not that simple.

Following the Ross and Moore threads tell a different story.

Moore is #250. Ross is #370.

It appears Moore won't get a green light from UT unless Ross says no. And he may not at all even if Ross chooses UNC.

Butch probably isn't using Rivals or 247 as his evaluation tool.

I am sure Butch does not go by those sites but I would be hard pressed to just write off the rankings completely. Especially when there is a huge difference in 2 recruits. The Moore situation is interesting though.

Any chance the mysterious 4th spot goes to this kid? Callahan has CB'd him to Memphis.. If we can't beat out Vandy and Memphis... We want Eze! He's got real potential.

Please go and look up some of the rankings from 2007-2011. You'll find out pretty quickly this sites have little clue on who will be good and who won't.

If you think individual player recruiting rankings tell you whether one player is better than another then you're a fool. History tells us they are typically very wrong.

You're new to recruiting so it's all good, but you're off the mark. Why Tucker? Why not Locklear?

If you go by the dumbass ranking sites only then you're gonna have a bad time. The coaches wouldn't have taken ANY OL over Venzell Boulware a few years ago and he wasn't "highly ranked."

Individual player rankings when added up make up the class rankings. For the most part the schools who sign the best classes play for titles. Sure this or that can be fudged and of course they miss here and there, but to act like it means zero is just silly. The best coaches in America miss on player evals here and there.

This is actually true, but the key is knowing who has a higher rating. Here's a hint: It has nothing to do with recruiting service ratings.

Is Venzell really that promising? I was more excited for him than the usual '3 star', but I usually get excited when we sign a full sized lineman. I see he's up to 306 now.

He is behind Weisman and Robertson. He probably starts next year at RG
