'17 TN OT Obinna Eze (Memphis commit)

Hope we get Eze. Seems like we have a good shot.

UT has a great chance due to being the 1st in on him and to know about him when he 1st arrived in TN. Ga has made their presence felt as has Bama. The wild card here is Memphis because he fell in love with them when he visited. But I'll say this it's a pretty wide open recruitment as the offers continue to pile up.

If you fall in love with Memphis on a visit, you're doing it wrong.

While he is ver close to Wray that will hv no bearing in his final decision Big O cm here as a basketball player was advised by Buck to try football. Kid has a great upside and will likely be a top 10 NFL pick after college. Right now he's all over the place in recruiting depends on the day of the week. I'm telling you guys UT is in the race but kids simply don't relate to Mahoney and imo UT would benefit by just saying CMD is OC/OL coach and utilize that spot for a coach of need qb coach or something of that nature.

Top 10 pick and never played varsity football? Glad to see VolNation rubbing off on your football IQ (not a compliment). I get it that you're involved with him and do a lot with your camps but just because a kid has a nice frame and long arms doesn't mean a darn thing, especially a top 10 pick? Bro, pass the sauce you're hitting and let's get lost.

I believe it was more due to a shift in recruiting. He started going solely for highest star rating without really RECRUITING the kids and finding out about them. Team cohesion slipped and when he didn't land top RATED recruits, his backup plans were kinda stabs in the dark. Still fuzzy on the guys that Fulmer SHOULD have fired that were there til the end. Went over Cut and Chavis would be an odd choice for your point. Randy Sanders? Fired. Went through some OL coaches at the end. I think you were trying to draw a parallel to Butch that would have failed on it's own merit. Mahoney and Azzani are everyone's whipping boys, but he's replaced both coordinators and upgraded at TE coach. Seems like you're in a hurry to get that opinion out before Butch's hires make you look foolish (more). And I don't buy your blasé claim about your camp attendees or lack thereof. Common denominator of a number of your targets of derision are suspiciously absent from your camp roster. It's human to be a little petty...we got your back. :huggy:

I never said CBJ was in jeopardy ijs that holding on to dead weight can become a coach's demise. Its a known commodity that CPF who I still talk to today held on to guys after he was asked by Hamilton to let go of dead weight coaches similar to Azzani and Mahoney. On the camp tip no petty here at all my friend. It might be human nature but we've had the #1 guy and some yearly so why would we be petty. The thing with the guys in E. TN was Big Will and Carlos were talking about some things on twitter and they bailed out on them and our guys were there.

None of what I said was personal bias but by what scouts and guys who are agents have said. No sauce or bias here, just repeating what guys who do this daily said when they watched him camp.

Honest question...

Do agents attend your camps? Or other camps that you know of?

Everybody think back 4-5 years ago to who on here had info to one degree or another. How many of them are still posting here? Why is it impossible for many on here just to read what's posted and believe what they want? Every damn time someone says they have a little info they get personally attacked until they go away.Is it possible for the insecure ones on here (you as well as the rest of us know who you are, trust me) to shut the hell up and quit being the sites conscience. Please stop all the personal attacks and let the rest of us make up our own mind as to what to believe or not.

It's a shame that there's only one quality OL coach out there :cray:

Mahoney is no world beater but I would think having a OC that specializes in OL would be a bigger deal. That is who is calling plays to put guys in position to succeed. Id say he did that for the OL last year that didn't even have probably it's best OL in Robertson for most of the year. He was hurt majority of season and was rarely close to 100%

I can't remember who it was, but I thought a recruit recently said he wanted to play for Mahoney specifically.

By all accounts, Top247 offensive tackle Obinna Eze of Nashville’s Davidson Academy was the star of the camp and almost definitely moved up Tennessee’s board with his performance. The Vols extended an offer to Eze — who has yet to play in his first varsity game after moving from Nigeria to the United States last year — more than three months ago, but they still seemed to be taking a bit of a wait-and-see approach with him in recent months because of his limited football experience. He’s now likely to be a higher priority for Tennessee following his performance at Sunday’s camp.

I think it's hilarious how Mahoney gets all the blame when the Oline sucks but when it is good all the praise goes to Debord.

That's what DeBorg specializes in, so the turn around was credited to him. He comes in and guys get better. Not rocket science here.

Young guys also get better as they mature, have another year in the S&C program, and have time to develop their technique. That's not rocket science either.
