Me too, but man Hurd-AK has spoiled me. Haha.

Agreed! I believe running backs can see the benefit of having a fellow teammate to help carry the load. On this team every one knows Hurd is going to get more carries but it has not hurt Kamara's status as an elite player. SEC is just too physical for one player to handle the load.

Ideally Chandler and Richardson can see the big picture and help make Tennessee great and themselves at the same time.

It is really early in recruiting to be concerned about not having any at this point but I just wished someone in this loaded Tennessee class would jump on board and be the leader of making this Vol class great.

These guys surely can see the upside to continue the rise of Tennessee football that has begun under Butch. Do it right and their set whether things work out in the NFL or not. The VFL program is quite unique and is the one good thing Dooley did for the players. JMO and GBO

It's funny. These in-state kids compliment each other's skill sets very well.

The absolute must gets for this class are Chandler and Higgins.

Gray and Stevens are special. Stevens especially. But We are loaded at DB and LB. Gray gets a look at RB. Which would be a good choice.

Chandler and Higgins are two break away threats. Both have great natural speed. Most kids top out on speed once they gain a little mass. These are two kids that will get even faster with training.

Gray is not playing RB in college. Seems like someone even stated he no longer play RB in high school IIRC.

"Yesterday was great to see all the in-state guys there," Chandler said. "Being around guys from the same community you are from was a fun time. I saw a lot of people that I knew. We have spoke about playing together some, but at the same time we all have to do what's best for us."

The relationship with the Tennessee staff is strong for Chandler. They spent plenty of quality time with the talented tailback and he has a good feeling about what they are trying to accomplish.

"I think it's a great place with great people," Chandler said. "That's something you always look for. I had a great time and the coaches really are respectable and I respect them. They are nice people. It's just a good environment all around."

Their message is pretty simple for Chandler. They need running backs and he is right at the top of the wish list. The chance to play early and often will be available in the Fall of 2017.

"That's attractive," Chandler said. "They offer me the chance to play early, but they also offer me a great education and where I would fit in. I feel like I fit in their style of offense. I was looking at it and they get the ball like 60% of the time and that's good for me being a running back. We run some of the same stuff with my high school team. That would possibly be a quick transition."

And driving home that point is running backs coach Robert Gillespie who made the Montgomery Bell Academy product a priority from the day he stepped foot on campus as a prospect.

"Coach Gillespie is really down to earth and he tells you how it is," Chandler said. "We have a built a pretty good relationship and he's just a great guy. A guy I like being around. I like how he coaches and what he brings to the table. I talk to Alvin and Jalen about what to expect and what it's like. I also have friends that go there and they tell me it's a great place to be."

"Right now I don't even know if I'm going to end it early or take it to February," Chandler said. "I just want to find the right fit. I think for me academics, coaching and playing time are all a big factors."

It's well known that Chandler's father played at Ole Miss. Some think the Rebels have the inside track, but he doesn't believe that to be the case.

"I think that's overblown," Chandler said. "Yeah, my dad went to Ole Miss, but he wants me to do what's best for me. He is totally open about every possibility. He just tells me to find the right fit and just focus on making the best decision possible."

It doesn't get said enough IMO, but I appreciate all the updates. You da man!

Ditto!! I live in another state so I live for these and do not have the words to express how grateful I am.

Hope that isn't overly dramatic since we are talking about football. However, it is Tennessee football!

I feel like he will be the first in-state domino to fall followed by Gentry Bonds, then Princeton Fant, who in turn turn the heat on Stevens who commits at the end of his SR season or on into January.

I do not feel like we get Gray ATP. But if all the above pop then anything could happen!

Chandler said he enjoyed the visit, and he admitted the Vols are in his top group right now, although he hasn't put together a formal list of favorites to this point. He said he spent plenty of time with UT running backs coach Robert Gillespie while he was there. He also talked with head coach Butch Jones and others, and he said Tennessee continued to make it clear to him that he's a high priority for the Vols at running back.

They broke down the depth chart with him, explaining that he could have a chance to earn early playing time, particularly if Jalen Hurd and Alvin Kamara leave for the NFL draft next year. They also watched some film with him that showed him how closely Tennessee's offense resembles his Montgomery Bell Academy team's I-formation offense, at least in the running game, and helped to convince Chandler that he could be a good fit for the Vols' system.

This is what the AK-JRM Twitter exchange was about last night IMO

I also said when referring to Stevens and Gray, that we are loaded at DB and LB. I was talking abouy Gray being the LB prospect. And he will get a "look" at RB.

Good size hands and speed.

Fair enough. I just don't see how a guy who doesn't even line up at RB in HS anymore gets a "look" at RB in college when his best position is considered by literally everyone to be at LB. You're entitled to your opinion though.

Hope MBA can blow some teams out this year. Ty had like 45 carries in 3 different games I watched.

Contrast that with CFA who housed his first 5 touches and then put a hoodie on and kicked it on the bench the remainder of the game 😝

I'm telling you it's a running joke between them and they just pulled CRG into it.

Kongbo is getting in on it now too. "Eloquence"

Stuff like this for days... JRM to AK

@A_kamara6 distinguished Atlanta cuisine "wings&fries" evokes a circumstantial ratchetism from ones inner spirit

He's talking about Zaxbys...lol

We have to get this kid.

I think we will. One of my patients is somewhat close to him and said that the Ole Miss connection isn't as significant as some think. *not inside information, just sharing what I've been told

That is precisely inside information! Keep probing my friend! Well, you know what I mean.
