'17 WV OT Billy Ross (UNC commit)

There are position needs. You just can't take 7-8 on the OL then strike out at another position. Balance in a class is important.

They are likely to dump a LB if Foster commits. Rogers may be out as Bumphus is a TE.

I'd rather have a logjam of legit SEC talent at one position than a balance of kids that aren't good enough, which may well be what we have now.

"Ross was all Tennessee a few weeks back and I think the combination of numbers and UNC pushing early playing time may have caused a mutual parting of the ways in this recruitment."

You prob know something I don't , I've just seen several CBs for his flip lately on 247. Admittedly I have no other info pertaining to it.

They had 80% CBs for Preston Williams to UGA...all the way up to NSD.

I'm thinking someone became a silent commit over the weekend and took Ross' spot. Anyone know how many OL we are taking this year? I don't think Ross or Moore are takes anymore.

Do coaches normally have "a mutual parting of the ways" with players who are way up on the board? Or did you just choose to skip over Prices comment?

It depends I suppose. When did he start leaning toward UNC? As a coach if I feel I've lost a recruit set to announce in a few days, I may "mutually part ways". Looks better for me when the article is written.

Might be an indication what Moore does. The same folks said Moore might be a take after they see what Ross does. Curious to see what Moore decides.

With Smith visiting that could be a very possible scenario.

I believe VQ said 3 for sure and a 4th was possible if the right guy wants in.

If we missed out on Ross because Trey silent committed, obviously I'm fine with that.

But if we're turning him away because we have Locklear and Tucker locked up, and are just hoping... that sucks.

I feel like at some point closer to NSD, Butch's strategy is gonna become very clear to me and I'm gonna feel like an idiot.

From the timing referenced in Austin Price's report, sounds to me like there was a first come, first served spot up for grabs between Ross and Locklear and Locklear locked it up.
