'18 AL DE Malik Langham

Oh yeah. I like my idea of taking bears grandson next year too though. Hah

Not a chance that happens.

Saban will retire aftwr Paul's last year after winning his 4th NC as starting QB and 3rd Heisman.

Brodie Croyle was a legend, but Paul Tyson will be their Peyton Manning x 10.

during an interview this week with 247sports recruiting insider keith niebuhr on vsporto’s sec recruiting buzz podcast, the four-star defensive end said he has a leader heading into his official visits to alabama, florida and tennessee the final three weekends before national signing day on feb. 7 "i'm just going to keep it to myself," langham said

langham admitted alabama currently is "in a good spot" in his recruitment. Florida showed him he's a priority for the gators new staff during an in-home visit with four assistants and new head coach dan mullen earlier this week. Langham said notre dame's coaching staff and "second to none" academics are appealing, and his "great relationship" with vanderbilt's coaches have kept the commodores in the mix.

New tennessee coach jeremy pruitt and defensive line coach tracy rocker made their in-home visit on tuesday night, and langham indicated the vols have a legitimate chance of landing him. "they have a good shot," langham said. "i had interest in them with the last coaching staff. This coaching staff reinforced the offer. Coach pruitt recruited me to alabama, and while coach rocker was there, he recruited me to georgia. Me and them already have a great relationship. "i've been up there three times, and what i like most is it's close to home (and) just the atmosphere, the fans and the great football tradition they have."

langham said the biggest factors in his decision will be finding the program that feels like home and is the "best fit" for him. "my decision is going to be based on the people around me," he said, "just seeing the place that i can be there for the next four or five years."

"The Top247 defensive end picked up an offer from the Crimson Tide after a standout senior season that saw him amass over 100 tackles and 11 sacks.

“I just got an opportunity to hang out more with the coaches and see some stuff I hadn’t seen before,” Langham told BamaOnLine of the trip.

Langham says he enjoyed the championship parade on Saturday, but that “everything” stood out throughout the weekend.

D-line coach Karl Dunbar heads up Langham’s recruitment for the Tide. It’s who the three-star prospect says he feels closest with.

“You know, just compete for a spot,” Langham said of Dunbar’s message. “They play a lot of freshmen, so if he feels like you’re ready to play, you’ll play.”

An official visit to the Capstone wouldn’t be complete without one-on-one time with head coach Nick Saban.

“It went good,” Langham said of his talks with Saban. “(He said) They want me here. He was just saying to make the decision based on you and he’ll do all he can do to help me in life and football.”

Tide sophomore Quinnen Williams hosted Langham.

“He was like they’re going to prepare you for everything in life, for football and life after football,” Langham said.

Is there a team to beat?

“Alabama,” Langham said.

For now, Langham plans to announce on National Signing Day with visits remaining to Florida and Tennessee. He didn’t rule out a trip to Auburn, which offered on Friday, but said he needs to speak with his family first."

— top247 defensive end malik langham of huntsville, ala., went on his official visit to alabama over the weekend and admitted after the visit that the crimson tide are the team to beat going into the final two-plus weeks before national signing day. Langham still is scheduled to return to tennessee the weekend of feb. 2 on his final official visit, with a trip to florida planned for this weekend. The vols have been viewed in recent weeks as perhaps the greatest threat to the crimson tide, and they’re still very much in the race. But it’s not going to be easy for tennessee to beat out alabama down the stretch and land langham, who appears to be a priority for the tide.

This kid was waiting for that Bama offer. This one's over.

Likely but you never know. Pruitt knows that Bama depth chart up and down. If there isn't a realistic chance for him to play in first two yrs I'd bet Pruitt attacks that angle. I don't know if there is or not but if there is Pruitt will know

What I was thinking. Thought he and Peterson were top priorities in this class for a long time.
Langham has been high on Bama's board for a while, but I sense his offer wasn't committable until after his senior season and the early signing period. It appears Bama had Brenton Cox ahead of him on their board, and still aims to sign two more DL, Bobby Brown (committed) and Langham.

Unlike Bennett this is a guy Bama wants who is a legacy. Uphill battle but no reason to completely give up. I think he had an offer but they have ramped up the love for him with pressure.

Bama does not pressure recruits for a commitment. They keep it 100 with where they stand on the board and tell recruits not to commit to Bama unless they are 100% certain about their decision.
