Bama does not pressure recruits for a commitment. They keep it 100 with where they stand on the board and tell recruits not to commit to Bama unless they are 100% certain about their decision.

Saint Nick doesn't lie to recruits, oh he just has his coaches to lie for him where he doesn't get any heat.:clapping:

I've been following Bama recruiting closely since Saban was hired as HC. He doesn't want soft commitments. He does stress that he'd rather they wait until they're certain before commiting. He also shoots straight with them about the number of spots available for their position and where they are in the pecking order. Soft commitments (open to flipping) are meaningless, worthless.

Prolly should talk to Kamara about that. :good!:

Pressure in showing him more love as they say than they were. Once he had a better senior year then they came running. So not the pressure you like to speak of. Or, you could say he moved up on their board so now more contact ect or pressure whatever you call it. Was not saying they were like commit now or else.

Surprised he hasn’t committed already after his OV this past weekend and shut it down.

No reason in being a silent commit at this point.

Either Bama is tight on numbers and waiting to accept his commitment or he has legit interest and wants to OV to Tennessee before making a decision.

“Hey Malik, we want to be 100 with you. We like this guy, that guy, that guy, this guy and that guy better than you. Wait, what? We also like this guy and that other guy too, Now, if all of them turn us down, we 100% want you to be the next great Bama lineman. What do you say?” (Cough, cough)

“Now before you answer, let’s make sure those others guys say no first. You got it?”

:toast: Gotcha. Yeah, sometimes words like "turn up the heat" or "put on the press" are used by recruiting reporters. As NSD gets closer and spaces get tighter, all recruiting staffs have to question and guage their targets' intentions, manage backup plans, etc. It's tricky business for sure.

 It's just as easy for recruits as it is for us to know who else schools are recruiting at their position. Recruiting sites even give pretty good indications of teams' priorities, depth charts, etc. Not that hard for recruits to tell if they're being misled. If a recruiter loses trust and credibility with a recruit he's likely to lose the recruit. The best recruiters actually do keep it pretty real with recruits, especially as it gets closer to NSD. To land top, sought after recruits, you've also got to present a pretty clear and detailed plan for their future in your program.

In Langham's case, his senior season performance improved his stock -- at UA, UT and others.

Idk quite what your asking. He obviously wasn't sure about his commitment since he didn't sign in the early period. Apparently, he wanted to wait and see how coaching changes, recruiting classes, etc. shaped up. UA is certainly still recruiting him, but they're also recruiting other top talent for their 8 remaining spots. It's possible the bus could fill up and leave without him.

Well it’s a good thing you know 100% how Bama does it. Interesting you bring up recruiting sites because based on your comments I figured you were Bama support Staff.

Your last sentence is really erroneous. Quay can Drive that bus if he wants and if you think otherwise you’re ignorant.

I am sure that the Bama recruit from several years back who was told in February that his scholarship offer was now a grayshirt offer would agree 100% with you.

Kwon Alexander. Signed with LSU and is now in the NFL.

He is referring to Darius Philon who had his signing day ceremony and prior to making an announcement was told he had a greyshirt offer only and later that day signed with Arkansas. Riley Cole was similar as well.

There was one last year, Jarez Parks. Nobody seemed to know for sure the true details on what caused that situation. One "insider" claimed Bama got one more LOI than they expected to get. It wasn't as bad as Bama haters like to believe. Parks didn't want to go anywhere else (despite other schools last minute efforts) and was very willing to wait a semester to enroll, because would've very likely been redshirted anyway. He's enrolled now, with a bright future, and very happy.
