-- HubbsFinally, lots of Tennessee commits made their way back to Knoxville for the first time since joining the Vols class (Adrian Martinez, Brandon Cross, Brant Lawless, DAndre Litaker, Brandon Harris and 2019 corner Adonis Otey).
Every commit remained thrilled with their decision and happy to have their recruitment behind them. The same could definitely be said for several commits families, too.
Now, Martinez certainly raised plenty of eyebrows with his comments in an interview to a USC reporter Thursday. After speaking with multiple parties Thursday, including Adrian, we believe Tennessee is totally fine here.
Martinez does have some ties to the LA area, but his family had a tremendous visit in Knoxville last weekend and is very big on loyalty and honesty. They have no plans of exploring USC as a potential option. Martinez loves Mike Canales and has quickly developed a relationship with UT commits Cade Mays, Alontae Taylor and others.
When it came time to leave Saturday night, Martinez didnt want to. He was having too much fun.
Tennessees future quarterback really became an instant recruiter for the Vols as well, spending lots of time with Carvin, Dixon and Emerson on OCD.
Was just listening to the interview that Josh Ward did with Adrian Martinez and Martinez said that he was fully committed to the Vols and that his dad basically grilled him and was very angry with him for even fielding USC call. He also said that the chance for him to go to SC is minimal to none

If he visits USC, I think UT should cover their bases and start bringing in other QBs for visits. Been around too long to be blind to the whims of 17 year old kids. I've seen UT left at the altar on too many occasions. You just can't count on "commitments". Kid is 100% all in for UT...."right now". Sorry, but the minute he takes another visit, I start bringing in other qb recruits.
If coaches can just drop a committed kid anytime like ours do then IMO these kids have to take their visits and cover their bases in case they are cut loose late as happens EVERY year with this staff.
