'18 DT TN D'Andre Litaker

Hope we can refocus on him being a vol, this is the type of kid we need who is committed to his state school, good coaches will play to their players strengths.... SIGN this kid Pruitt

Or it’s following the previous coach’s penchant for signing known injury cases and hoping for the best. The goodwill from Hall,Brooks and Butcher resulted in what, exactly?

I don't disagree but Brooks did play this year when called upon.

I agree I guess and I guess for the future of our program it is a business decision but hate it for the kid and hope if we don’t sign him he gets an opportunity somewhere that he won’t make us regret not taking him!

Look how bleak a situation it was for that to happen. After practically four years of inactivity and two on scholarship. That scholarship goes to a relatively healthy 3 star and maybe there’s more bang for the buck in those games. I was always gung ho about honoring scholarships for injured players. Pruitt should be able to make his own policy. His risk.

I think it was that running back Matt Falcon who kept blowing his knee out in high school. When it it got close to Signing Day, Harbaugh offered a medical scholarship to save a spot in the class. Depending on how severe Litaker’s prospects are, that could be an option. I’m a big fan of this kid, but I never viewed him as a make or break player. We’ll land kids similar (and already have) on a yearly basis imo.

Says it all IMO. We tend to see players as they are today with limited knowledge. CJP knows what he is looking at now and in the future with a player much better than us.

If we're not planning on signing him, we should tell him and allow him to find a school that fits.

Yes. All of this ignoring a teenager is nonsensical and cowardly. I'm not necessarily saying that's what's happening in this incident, but it's pretty common place. The last staff did it with the safety from Chattanooga. Grow up, be a man, and call the damn kid.

Sad situation. IMO, kid deserves a shot, but I'm not the coach. And of course, we risk offending some people and getting shut out of some home state high schools. Or upsetting future recruits who are friends of D. Lit. And yes, that happens. If a kid is good, we're not the only ones chasing him. Sometimes it takes very little to drive them toward other schools.

Tough spot for Pruitt and the new staff to be in. What if he really doesn’t fit the scheme we will be running?

It is a tough spot, especially given D’andre’s recent misfortunes. I think the biggest issue for coaches may be D’Andre’s health. If I’m not mistaken, I think he’s had 2 knee injuries in the past 18 months. If so, he’s going to be out for an extended period of time. That’s not to say he can’t come back, but our coaches need players who are ready to go now. There may be other issues or concerns the coaches may have..

I don’t think any of us know what the coaches’ concerns are. If he can’t play next year, hopefully the coaches can pursue him at a subsequent time.

We’re all hoping he can come back in the future.

If he has not heard from TN coaches at all, you would think multiple schools would be swooping in to gain his commitment. As quiet as it is on that front, do other schools have concerns about his health?

after a coaching search, and another, and an AD search, as well early signing period....its become abundantly clear that no one, outside of Fulmer and Pruitt and staff have any idea of whats going on.

Litaker could be being recruited by us, or not. He could be offered by bama or MS school for the blind. We dont know. Hope they sign him, if not, life goes on.

I hope we keep him, but...

I’ve been says for years we shouldn’t take injured guys. When was the last time we got a kid that was good that arrived on campus hurt? Probably Tiny, but even he had plenty of bad games.

I don't think any power 5 schools would raid him

Looks to be the case, Parker at 247 just wrote an article talking about possible commits/decommits - and he alluded that many schools have concerns about his knees.

FWIW he says Flint will end up at WKY or Indiana

If you watch where our de-commits sign I think it paints a pretty clear picture of the caliber of the recruits that are getting processed.

Except for helping bump the class rating, nearly nothing. Hall actually contributed with good play his freshman year, but he did not last and seems to be in medical limbo.
