'18 DT TN D'Andre Litaker

He knew for months. Apparently Austin peay is the only one talking to him

This is a lie and APSU is not an option. We love the coach and have sent plenty of kids there but D'andre won't be one. Everything will work out and all parties involved have spoken since CJP got to town. It will work itself out one way or another.

This would be a perfect grayshirt candidate. The staff can see how he recovers from his knee injury and how he looks in workouts through the spring and fall, then decide whether or not to sign him as an early enrollee for 2019.

Curious to know if greyshirting has worked out well for any recruit, ever. Devaun Swafford comes to mind as semi successful. I know Bama used the tactic quite a bit, any of their greyshirts ever make it to the league?

Edit: I'm pretty sure Swafford walked on his first semester after thinking about it.

iyam we havent been in a position to use a grayshirt in a long time. we've had to have kids on campus.

We need to take the phrase 'Bama does/did it' out. When you've won 5 nata in 7,8,9, or 10 years you can pick whoever you want to grayshirt, blueshirt.

We should concentrate on what UT has to do to win an SEC championship, no less than the East. The time is now. We have an actual coach. There is talent on the sideline.

UT can't continue to spend scholarships on players with injury histories that leave greater doubts about their ability to contribute. That's cold. But it is the reality of the NCAA rules concerning scholarships... the rules don't reward nice guys. If Litaker is a higher risk due to his past injury history then you offer him the best deal you can without hurting the team or wasting scholarships.

The hard 25 cap is going to make it harder to accept injury risk players.

Yeah, if I’m D’andre i doubt I would take a gray shirt.

I don't know, but I can't remember any grey/blue shirt guys that Butch brought in ever making a significant contribution. I remember several leaving before they played a single down.

All of this doing an end run around the numbers, has cost us a few spots in this class though. I personally hope we're done with all this greyshirt/blueshirt nonsense.

Jashon was a blue shirt. Cimaglia too, but his contribution hasn't been determined yet.

I agree with you to an extent. We haven't really taken that many blue shirts.

Robertson
Joe Young
Bruce
Perry
Cimaglia
Wiggins
Fant

That's all i can think of.

I don't really know the difference between the blue shirt or grey shirt and all the other nuances as far as counting players forward. Seems like Swafford fell in there somewhere. Also Abernathy's brother from Cincinnati.

i don't think there's any way he finds himself in Knoxville at this point. i am glad to hear that he's still got good, viable options at the FBS level.
