I like this kids film. He makes all the throws. He does seem to have a weird release but it may be the fact that he is a lefty that makes it look different. He keeps his eyes down field but is smooth when he does take off. Glad to have him on board and recruiting for the good guys.

Watch the kid's video and check his junior stats. This kid can play. I'm excited to watch him further develop as a QB.

I do agree but he does have a strange delivery. I bet by midseason in 2017 or after the 2017 season Penix will be a 4* ranking from all recruiting services. That's what I think. He does have some skills. Thanks.

High rated 3* likely a 4* QB when all is said and done, and he made huge strides from soon to junior year. Let his summer play out with camps, and his senior year play out and I guarantee we will have solid 4* QB for the 2018 class.

Y'all know it's been mentioned that he has family that reads this forum. Was just trying to put myself in their shoes and considering how they might feel reading the near constant barrage of posts mocking their family name.

If they read this board, then they have seen this going on for months. Probably getting a laugh at it or perhaps reconsidering his commitment. Oh wait, been reading for months all this stuff and just committed yesterday. Let the boys have their fun. We can't in real life.

Was thinking this as well. The kid is an incredible athlete. If you look at his progression from his sophomore to junior year, its incredible. I'm sure he's still learning the position and will continue to progress.

He has the mobility and arm and desire to be very good. If we didn't land another QB in this class, I still think we'd be okay.

How long has he been a QB? Thought I saw something about HG saying he was WR before. Look forward to seeing him in action this year. Looks like he smoothed out his delivery some this spring but hard to tell until pads are on in games.

Greg Ladky of Rivals just put up a video talking about Penix...said he's having a great off season, made incredible strides, he's likely getting a bump in the rankings and has good size and elite arm strength.

I think this kid is under-rated. The videos, jr stats and praise he's been getting at camps show this kid has talent.

Good to hear that. I keep seeing how good he's looked at these combines, but I haven't really seen any articles or analysts mentioning his performance. Are they talking him up at these combines on their videos?
