'18 FL QB Michael Penix Jr.

Just got done watching his Jr highlights and man his ball placement is excellent. In the video I watched he always puts the ball where his guy can catch it on the run and keep his speed and direction. No stopping and waiting for the ball or having to make tough catches which is huge for yards after the catch. I really like what I saw. The only thing I noticed that needs work is tightening up his throwing motion a bit. He seems to bring the ball way back and away from his head. That isn't a huge deal but if the coaches can work on that he looks to have the potential to be a very good QB for us. I hope we can hang on to him after the commitment from Martinez. They both look to have a lot of potential which should make for a very good QB battle between the two. Which is obviously a good situation for us--allowing the coaches to pick the starter from two solid QBs when their time comes.

There's nothing worse than a mangled penix

On one hand, I wish FSU would go away. On the other hand, it's nice to see UT competing with so many top programs for recruits again!

Going to be hard to hold onto both Penix and Martinez all the way to NSD. They'll have to recruit these guys hard until the ink is dry. Penix is going to get a nice bump in the rankings soon and he'll start to hear from more and more schools.

Agreed. I guess the question is how fearless/confident is he in his abilities? Hes walking into a room with Dormady, JG, McBride (who appears to be a steal), and Martinez. That's quiet the list of "CEOs"

Butch has done a great job of recruiting QBs.

Titans quarterback Michael Penix Jr. finished 4-for-5 with 101 yards passing, including a 35-yard touchdown pass to Malik Young and an 8-yard touchdown pass to Justin Mazariegos.

Audible II: "We were coming in, coach was telling me we were going to throw the ball, and I was very excited. I knew I was going to have my receivers open. I trust them, and I trust my O-linemen to block for me to get the ball to the receivers, so it was great." — Penix Jr. on his two-play, 75-yard touchdown drive
