Butch knocked recruiting out of the park for 2 consecutive years. It netted us two 9-win seasons and a Battle of Bristol trophy

Sure his class ratings were high but didn't it seem like he was recruiting against ACC teams and other lesser teams a lot of the time? Just seems like Pruitt is going after more quality recruits that are also being recruited by Alabama, Georgia, FSU, USC and other BIG programs. At least we had more hats on the tables of several Top recruits this year and next year will be better. JMO.

Why any coach would want to deal with this insane bunch of fans is beyond me. Constant negativity from the same set of voices. No matter what thread you can read the same blather from the same crowd.

This message board is not a true reflection of our fan base or any fan in general base for that matter. I see this type of stuff and every message board site. Anybody can get behind a keyboard and type stupid stuff. People take message board internet way to seriously if they think it impact where a coach is going.:loco:GBO!!!!!

JP actually did an excellent job during the early signing period....it’s the last month that he struggled with. I trust with a year to get after it, 2019 will be substantially better....and it better be.

Thought so too and I expect a much better 2019.

I expected the month of January to be more productive, honestly. Pruitt and staff did a great job pulling some JuCo prospects in December, and I thought, with the entire month of January, he would be a closer and a finisher. This recruiting class did not finish well. It felt more like we were trying to hold on for dear life with the few guys we had pulled, like Peterson and Young.

I expected him to be able to hold onto Jordan Young.
I expected him to be able to recruit some highly recruited DBs. Yes, he pulled 2 guys on the last day as backup options. I expected the "Minkah Fitzpatrick" pull that we heard so much about to actually pay dividends.
I expected him to either be able to hold onto Grant or bring in someone as a replacement for him.
I expected him to attract more HS talent on defense. Peterson is a HUGE get, but outside of him, felt like we pretty much struck out on defense in January.

Those would be a few areas where I feel like expectations weren't met. Would you disagree with those? Or did you expect him to lose Jordan Young and finish defensively the way we did?

Any other school can simply point to last season and how pathetic the coaching search was to steer recruits away from UT. Jeremy Pruitt cannot fix the reputation that is put into people's minds for long periods of time.

I’m so frustrated but it’s almost to the point of comedy and none of it negatively towards Pruitt. I will let time tell but the whole day feels like a troll towards Volnation.
