'18 GA CB Jaycee Horn

Take your pick. A cancerous RB, a plethora of injuries, and a lack of execution by the team. Freshman starting at CB. Depleted LB depth.

Surely you saw the earlier Phil Steele post breaking down injuries and the amount of starts lost per team. Tennessee was at a 14 year high in the entire NCAA. There's injuries that depth takes care of and then there's what happened to us last year. There were guys starting last year who aren't even in the conversation to start this year.

Baylen Buchanan made one start last year because our CB play was atrocious no matter who we put out there. He's competing this year for playing time. Who else you got? Maybe Elliott Berry who made 4 starts last year but he too is competing for the wide open WILL LB position. Anybody else on either side of the ball?

App state I was a very difficult 1st game opponent. They've been very good the last couple of seasons and the last 20 or so years for that matter.

But last year 2 of their 3 losses on the year were away games at us and Miami.

They are just not a cupcake

App State played Miami at home last year....and lost 45-10

An under sized Marcus Tatum, Dillion Bates, and Paul Bain to name a few more. Did you even read the article or is being contrarian a hobby of yours?

Cool story. What exactly did the poster that you were replying to say wrong?

Try to keep the trashing of the team off of the player's thread we are still after. You've been around long enough to realize that recruits do view these threads.

Not sure if this is what he meant, but I'd say it was the idea that Appy St. played Miami on the road, as the poster he quoted implied. Miami went to Boone and beat the snot out of them 2 weeks after we barely held on to beat them in OT in Knoxville.

How did Miami do against Va. Tech? Daisy chaining scores has no real meaning. The only reason someone would point this out would be to paint the program in a bad light. Especially when you consider the person's posting history who chimed in with the score.

Stop. In just the past 5 years App St has lost to: UT, Troy, Clemson, Arkansas State, Miami, ECU, The Citadel, Wofford, Illinois State, Montana, NC A&T, Georgia Southern, Samford, Furman, Chattanooga, Georgia, Michigan, Southern Miss, South Alabama and Liberty.

Their best win over the past 5 years is a squeaked out win against Toledo last year. Before 2015, they had not been to a bowl game since 1955. Appalachian State had no business even remotely threatening to beat us, especially at home with a fully loaded and healthy team.

I wonder if that would have anything to do with them not becoming a Division I school until 2014. They have also went 20-5 their last 2 seasons. No, Tennessee shouldn't have struggled with them. But at least understand what you are posting before attempting to pass off your brand of facts to the board.

Lulz....the reason App St hadn't been to a bowl game was because they were division 2 until 2014 or 15. How in the hell did you not know that?

Yep, this thread for whatever reason has brought the FF. It's really mind numbing.

and Wyoming had no business beating a fully loaded and healthy team at homecoming but they did. Does that mean fulmer wasn't a good coach for Tennessee?
