'18 GA CB Jaycee Horn

Cool story. What exactly did the poster that you were replying to say wrong?

Try to keep the trashing of the team off of the player's thread we are still after. You've been around long enough to realize that recruits do view these threads.

That 2 of App State's 3 losses were "away at us and Miami"....wasn't true as their game vs Miami was at home. Just correcting the record champ.

And just how was I was trashing Tennessee by pointing out App Stste's game vs Miami wasn't at Miami?

What I don't get is that if Alabama truly is slow playing or passing on this young man, then why the heck would he stick around egging to play for a team that doesn't think that highly of him.
I am honestly surprised he doesn't tell them to love themselves out of dignity.
Then I work my tucus off to beat some respect into them on the field!

I believe a lot of people's said the same of Master before he got his offer from OSU. It stinks but it is what it is.

So in an already ultra competitive recruiting landscape, you guys have tnt bright idea of only recruiting kids that are ONLY interested in going to UT and if they don't have UT as their top school during the entire process they are OUT. Brilliant! Especially when said kids are 17-18 years old and literally change their mind about their favorite things on a daily basis.

Conjecture. Brilliant! The post I made was referring to the update by Fingers. If you read it, it stated that some close to Horn thinks he is waiting to see if Bama will take him. What does that say?

Thats my point. It seems that Horn wants to play at Alabama. But he doesnt know if they will take him. So as you said, why bother with them? Why not commit to a school that you KNOW will take you?

Thats why I think he thinks that we are just a backup plan. An, oh well I guess they will do, type of situation. I hope I am wrong.

I don't mind if a kid has to pick us as his second school. This happens all the time with lower rated recruits who sometimes pick us because we are his best offer.

The thing with me is, the kid must make a full and decisive commitment when it is time. Let them waver back and forth through the process, but once the decision is made, be confident in it and stick by it. What I imagine is frustrating for the staff, and I think some of it has been evident in comments, is having kids who weren't confident in their commitment and decide to give up at the sight of adversity and/or competition.

With a face like mine, I'm basically never any womans "first choice."

But if Natalie Portman says she wants to marry me, do you think I'm going to say no?*

Same applies. If this kid wants to come to UT, we better put a ring on it.

*This only applies if she's still hot. I admittedly haven't seen a pic of her in years now that I think about it.

No, she's still got it. Lock that down, son.

For the same reason certain instate guys sit and wait on a UT offer. There's also the fact that you have an extremely solid chance at a national championship in your 3-5 years there.

Listen, I hate Bama like the rest of you, but acting like it isn't an extremely attractive school in the current football landscape is just silly.

Great post.It is unfortunately the mind set of most young people today. The first sign of adversity or conflict they get mad and quit.Out of the 100 or hires of young people I have found 4 that have what it takes to be successful in my line of work. The rest the first time business slows a little they are gone.
