I think we end up with palmer and smith as our two corners for this class.....good start to finding some talent and build in 2019

Smith, Palmer, and Griffin IMO.

Least likely of that group could actually be Palmer. Least amount of history there. Hope he is blown away this weekend.

I agree that it's a good sign that we are recuiting the same players as those ass sticks to the south. Still, they are ass sticks. I was referring to alabama the program, not just recuiting. With that said buck fama

Can’t argue with that. Arse sticks indeed.

Shamburger showed his stuff last year... Just imagine how he will be with real coaching..
He's got the talent for sure

Coach Warren did a pretty good job,
But everyone will be on equal footing come spring. Sham and Byrd need a huge spring. Osborne is the nickel imo.

Our new defense will create more pressure and I believe the RIGHT personnel will finally be on the field to be able to stop the run.

Austin Smith 6'3" 235
Daniel Bituli 6'3" 240
Will Ignot 6'1" 230

Butch didn't understand simple physics. Bigger guys can do better at stopping the run.

So more pressure in the front 7 will help our revamped secondary

The fact that two of those guys saw little time on the field and the third only got any starts because of injury last year, shows the stubbornness...ineptness...and ignorance of our last head coach.

I was looking at our roster compared to Bama's roster. Although discouraging in regards to talent, if the heights and weights reported are true, we should at least be serviceable in the front 7 on D.

NT/DT
Tuttle, Alexis Johnson/Crosby (Bama's heaviest DL is 315 lbs. which makes me think we don't necessarily need a Mt. Cody at NT to do what Pruitt wants to do)

DE
Phillips, Butler
Kongbo, Quay Picou/Deandre Johnson

ILB
Bituli, Q. Sapp
Kirkland, Ingont

OLB
Taylor, Thaxton
A. Smith, Blakely

Obviously if we were to land JJ and Quay Walker, there is immediate opportunity to get in the 2 deep, especially at OLB.

That's a real trio right there..and we already know what Bituli can do....he was really good last year...
I think the coaches will be happy with the linebacker core as well as those who sign....
I continue to say that the 2018 squad will be must better than the 2017...much better

Sapp will probably move inside.

His speed will serve him better there in the new scheme.

We'll still be a multiple defense, but he will be used alot to cver the middle. And attack sideline

Right now. Here is what our base defense will look like 3-4

DT Tuttle
NT Johnson
DT Phillips
DE/OLb Taylor
ILB Kirkland/Sapp
MLB Ignot/Peterson
OLB Bituli/ Smith
CB Byrd
CB Freshman
FS Jackson
SS Warrior
NB Osbourne
Star Sham

Defnisively we'll be a lot better!

Helton has to find a way to get JG to execute a small sample of plays at high level. Then our defense can stay more fresh

No Kongbo?

Interesting.

I’d say he’s one that would most def improve with some real coaching

The potential is definitely there...I’m just afraid that the heart, work ethic and discipline aren’t...and that won’t fly with this new staff

No offense but if you want to be at the top you are going to recruit against the best. I assume that is where UT fans want to be fighting for the best recruits in the country and being in the same conversation with UA, UGA, etc.

Let's get one thing straight. UGA has been beaten by UT 2 of the last 3 years (Dobbnail Boot, Baby)! So, just because they had one year of success does not make them Superior to us, whatsoever! UT seems to finally be digging themselves out of a decade of misery, but yet we have still found a way to beat UGA two of the last three years! I believe my point is proven?
