👍let's get one thing straight. Uga has been beaten by ut 2 of the last 3 years (dobbnail boot, baby)! So, just because they had one year of success does not make them superior to us, whatsoever! Ut seems to finally be digging themselves out of a decade of misery but yet we have still found a way to beat uga two of the last three years! I believe my point is proven?
I think they see this kid as a safety/nickel. Doesnt have anything to do with Griffin. VQ has said sources have told them UT still leads for Griffin.
The potential is definitely there...Im just afraid that the heart, work ethic and discipline arent...and that wont fly with this new staff
No Heart? Work ethic? Discipline? Based on what? Not wanting to argue but courious how you know this. Could it be possible that he was in the wrong system? Bad coaching? Or does Vol Nation just know these things? Many schools were after this guy even though he had limited football time. Could it be possible that this freak of an athlete might just shine in the correct system? If you know something about his work ethic that we dont please tell. Otherwise please stop trashing these guys.
The Vols certainly made a move with Peach State defensive back Taiyon Palmer this weekend. Palmer recently picked up offers from Alabama, Clemson and Notre Dame, but it was Tennessees legitimate interest that sparked his visit with the Vols. Sources indicate Tennessee has positioned itself in the drivers seat for the 3-star DB, leapfrogging N.C. State and Nebraska. A decision is set for NSD.
I just spoke with Palmer and it is going to be an interesting finish to this race. Tennessee gets the middle visit this week. They will be in his home Wednesday. Nebraska is Tuesday and Thursday is NC State. I talked with Jesse a few days ago and I told him NC State and Nebraska were in good positions from what I had heard. They made his top three with Tennessee, who made a big move over the weekend.
If I had to say who I personally feel has the slight edge entering this week, it is NC State. They have really done an excellent job recruiting him from what I hear. Now, on what Palmer said about Tennessee, here are some quotes:
"I did think Tennessee was going to be one of my finalists before the visit. I knew what Jeremy Pruitt was about, he knows what he is talking about and he knows all about my position.
"Coach Pruitt knowing about defensive backs definitely helps them. He knows what he is talking about, he knows how to coach my position and he coaches a great defensive system. "The best thing about the visit was the people, the staff. The staff knows the game and the players made me feel at home. That with the educational program stood out to me."
Obviously this is a big week for Palmer and his family. He is not taking a visit this weekend, so he is just going to do the final in-home visits with each staff, then figure things out. He said he is not sure when he will know his decision, but he is just going to pray on it and talk about it with his parents a lot.
