'18 GA QB Emory Jones (Ohio State commit)

There was that Spurrier kid. He turned out to be pretty good.

Lol, that's kind of my point. We have to go back years to point out successful QB's from TN. This state just isn't really known for growing em. Who knows, it could change soon. The talent pool has exploded the past few years.

Well yeah blood, you have two more seasons of high school ball. No need to rush. See how things play out a little bit.

If we can weather the storm of this visit. Let the new wear off. Let him experience the excitement of Neyland on a Saturday in the fall. Take care of business this season. I still think we have a decent shot. Maybe I am being a Homer but I think it's doable.

Callahan says people close to him don't seem to think he makes a decision before the season which is good for us.

That would be great news for Tennessee. Like I've said many times, there is not a more important recruit on the board in either the '17 or '18 class.

It's basically the difference in getting an elite QB that will pay immediate dividends with other big-time players or landing 2 "reach" type guys at QB in back to back classes, which would not be good at all.

I haven't watched any other 2018 QBs besides Lawrence and jones. Missing on jones doesn't mean we can't sign elite or close to elite kid and have to settle for a reach. Hopefully it's a good QB class where there are a few top arms to go around.

We'll see. QB's do things so early now you better be on the good ones several years in advance. I do think the '18 QB class is much better than this years, with that said, I also think there is a huge dropoff from TL and EJ to any other QB prospects in this class.

The hopes of getting EJ is the reason I didnt sweat it when Hunter Johnson flipped to Clemson. From comparing videos of the two, I would take EJ over HJ anyday of the week. Imo, EJ is the better QB. If I could pick a QB for the 17 class, it would be Jake Fromm the GA commit. Thoughts?

He also fits our system better. He is a proficient passer, but he also has the better ability to make plays with his legs and he is a lot quicker than Hunter as well. He is much more suited to the spread than HJ would have been.

I would take CJ Lewis.

Absolutely agree. EJ is a much better prospect than Hunter Johnson. It's not even close. I still don't know how Johnson is rated as high as he is. Arm strength will only get you so far when you aren't very good at anything else. His cousin was also highly rated coming out of HS and was a total bust in college, so I'm kind of expecting that here. Of course 247 did say he was likely to drop significantly in the near future.

He may turn out to be the next great QB. Who knows? I wasn't that enamored with him when he was committed to Tennessee. I never thought he fit our system. What's funny is, he doesn't fit Clemson's system. I bet he never sees significant minutes at Clemson. Bet he turns out to be our Dormady. Great kid, really good QB but just doesn't fit the system as well as the other QBs here. JMO.

Who is HJ cousin? What do you think about GA commit Jake Fromm? IMO, hes the best QB in this 17 class.
