'18 GA QB Emory Jones (Ohio State commit)

Yup. I'm confident it's his job in 2017.

To me QD is the odd man out. Gaurantano, Jones, etc. They all fit our offense better, because they're all faster and more athletic. They also can spin it pretty good too, so if they can throw almost as good as Dormady then they'll play over Dormady because they fit our offense better plain and simple.

Other than what I read, I couldn't tell you who is most athletic. I do know that QD has really good speed and can run. His strength is his arm. All that said, my expectation is that any of them can execute the offense well and CBJ will base his decision on who executes the offense the best. The one that does that and avoids mistakes will be your starter. All can throw and all can run.

Not true. Dormady will be a Junior in 2017 so if he stays and plays two full years JG won't be a starter till his redshirt junior year I believe. Unless I'm missing something.

Exactly..Dormady will take over the next 2 years after Dobb's leaves then JG is up after. Our receivers will be much better utilized next year and put up much bigger numbers.R really excited about QD.

If the school doesn't fit your playing style why go there? Spurrier grew up a huge UT fan, but he sure as hell wasn't going to play in our style of offense at the time, Wing T or whatever it was..

Lawrence would have played well in our system just like Dormady will next season. Only differences will be a few less QB runs and more down field passing. Dormady and Lawrence are plenty athletic enough to flourish in this offense.

He's not as athletic as dobbs and that is clear. Some people think he throws better than dobbs, and that may be true. If that's the case though why isn't he the starting quarterback? I myself prefer dobbs because he runs much better than Dormady, but others prefer Dormady because of his arm strength. He throws a pretty ball, but I will continue to believe that the key to our offense is a quarterback that can run very well.

Not according to Debord. When he came in he said a running QB was just a bonus for the offense and not a necessity. Accuracy, reading defense's, making good decisions and not turning the ball over is what he expects from his QB. Being a great runner is just a bonus but the other attributes are much more important.

What I believe many in the JG camp forget is that with the RBs we have and are probably going to get. Add the oline that has developed over the years. We don't need a DT at the helm. Will it help? Sure, but it is not necessary. With that said I'll still back whichever QB starts next year.

Dormady is more than capable on his feet to do what needs to be done to run this offense well. He's a hell of a talent throwing the ball though.

Absolutely right..The ones who continue to say he can't run are absolutely clueless. He doesn't have Dobb's feet but defense's will have to respect that he could keep the ball and run it at any time. But he more than makes up for it with his accuracy and down field passing. QD will do great things once he becomes the starter.

I personally love Dormady's potential. I think he's going to be a very good QB and will be the starter in 17 and 18. He absolutely moves better than people give him credit for. Definitely more athletic than Worley was and he also appears to be much more poised and decisive in his decision making. And he blows him away passing wise.

What?

We haven't even seen him in a competitive game yet.

How could anyone say something like this?

The coaches see him in practice every day. Dating back to fall camp last year the reports about his ability to throw the ball have been extremely positive. I'll say this, in his limited PT last year he made a couple of throws that most college QB's simply cannot make.

Completely agree. He has a very special passing ability, and comparing him to Dobbs as a runner, who is one of the best running QB's in the country, is unfair. I'm excited to see him play in the future.

Agree on all points. And now we actually have a solid OL to protect him.

He threw 2 absolute dimes against western Carolina i think last year to P Williams. They were 2 throws Dobbs has yet to make in any game.

Dobbs 80 yard TD pass to Malone versus Kentucky was better. Longer throw. Better competition. And in stride for a TD.

Also Dobbs pass to Malone against South Carolina that should have been a TD was also better.
