'18 GA QB Emory Jones (Ohio State commit)

Today I turn 50. Real old.

I'm 52, so yes you are old. You'll be shouting "get off my lawn" soon enough.

Happy 1/2 century Jacket. Hope you've had a great one! Here's to 50 more.

:toast:

P.S.: Don't forget to schedule your colonoscopy. :Colon:

Had no effect. Why are you so bad at this trolling thing? :thud:

I love it when people pretend like they know the inner workings of CBJ's recruiting strategy. They either read it on here or completely pulled it out of their rear. Which is actually quite a feat considering how far they usually have their head wedged up there.

The sad part is some people actually believe his drivel.

If Jones reads this thread, I bet he is thrilled to learn that it has turned into a colonoscopy discussion among 50 year olds. BTW I am in my 50's too. lol

I'm curious D4H, which film did you watch? Your own? Judging a kid off freshman and sophomore 'tape' isn't wise (for a fan) nor nowhere near a finished product even before college. Was their something in his 8th grade film that you saw that told you he needed more work?

Not to mention the fact that nobody who actually evaluates players professionally at any level, from high school, NAIA, D3 all the way up to the NFL relies on Hudl highlights. You've gotta break down actual raw game footage to truly see what a player brings to the table. Coaches, scouts, and evaluators want to see players at their worst and during the lulls of a game in addition the plays that pop.

Jones is the better passer. Guarantano the better athlete and fit for our zone read scheme.

Emory Jones reminds me of a young Jameis Winston before he got fat.

Yes, you mentioned that 3 times in the last dozen posts. So Jameis Winston wouldn't be a take. Gotcha. Saturday morning trolling.

If he reads the board of the team he passed on, he should expect a little CRAP. :wink2:

Because we (insert team) have the best facilities, the best staff, rising studs, and the most rabid fans in the country. Total family!

Recruit: I picked (insert team) because it just felt right, it felt like home, the coaching staff, the facilities, everything was first class.

Blah blah blah from all

Can't believe we have an incompetent recruiter as our head coach...Butch Jones has to be in the hot seat after this debacle..?...I can't believe we lost a recruiting battle with a 5* star QB to Ohio State. The same Ohio State that won the National Championship two years ago and had the most players selected in last years draft..I mean we wont the Outback Bowl! How pathetic Butch Jones! C,mon do your job!!

With JG, Dormady,Jones, and now Lewis, we will be fine .... for a couple of years... then go get the next rising Dual-Threat... no more pro-style..

Thing with Jones is there still is a chance he doesn't end up at OSU. If Georgia doesn't land Lawrence then they will turn there focus on Jones.

Jones can publicly say OSU is his "dream school" but to some Georgia is really his dream school. If they turn the heat up watch out.

Still think there is a chance we land him. Watch this fall to see what schools he visits and if he can make it to OSU for some games. If not this is when distance will factor even more in this recruitment and could turn the tide in our favor

Agree if Georgia misses on Lawrence they will try and flip Jones. Jones is a really good fit for Georgia's offense. He can make all the throws required in a pro-style offense and has the mobility that Kirby and Chaney covet. Most fans who haven't watched him play beyond his Hudl highlights; don't know that he takes a decent percentage of his snaps from under center and is pretty good at the play action pass.

Jones isn't a fit a UGA at all. They've run a pro style offense forever and that won't change with a Sabanite.

Spot on. And then there's the camps where they see and talk to him in person which trumps all the tape. Iirc, t's been pointed out many times that QBs have to come camp with Butch before he extends an offer, which is the right way to do it IMO. Sure as hell beats 5 or 6 minutes of cherry picked highlights.

You may want to do some more research on Emory Jones. He is a pro-style QB with mobility. No doubt college coaches will pitch him on being more of a dual threat guy if that's the system they run; but deep down he knows he's a passer first. The kid has really good throwing mechanics and is one of the best I've seen throwing on the run.

“I really see myself as a pocket passer but I can run just to get out of there under pressure and still make plays." -- Emory Jones

"I would say I'm Cam Newton from the neck down and Tom Brady or Peyton manning from the neck up." -- Emory Jones

"I know that I'm a throw first guy and I run when needed." -- Emory Jones
