'18 GA QB Justin Fields

I had a good session with my shrink and he gave this little "nugget" to help me get through this football season. Since almost every game will be televised, tape the games, do not watch or listen to them live. If they win, watch the tape. If they loose, delete the tape. I believe he's on to something :)

Who said anything about not landing recruits due to bad games? I said if we continue to put that product on the field, we won't be landing any recruits. Recruits have been waiting to see the product this year with all the hype around us. They want to see if it's hype or for real. Thus, that's why I made my comment.

And ask anyone on this board who is here frequently what I have consistently said about Butch and this staff's ability to recruit...I've been the one saying that they have earned the respect on the recruiting trail based on the classes they have put together and how fast he has flipped our depleted roster.

One thing that makes me puke every time I see it...football games called "product" like it comes out of a factory or something.

I actually tried that last year after the Okie game...it works. It helps keep you more even keeled. I made the mistake of going against my better judgement Thursday and watching it live. I actually started buying the blowout hype a little.

No, he's not right. The deep ball is not Dobbs' strength. We should try it more sometimes. But it was called some other times against App State, and Dobbs didn't see it open up or had other miscues. A good downfield passer will look much different running this offense. And making troll comments like that just makes posters look foolish.

There were also many times it may have been called, and our line didn't give enough protection to allow the play to develop. Dobbs was running for his life more often than not. Line has to protect better and Dobbs has to make quicker, better decisions.

“”What didn't I like?” would be an easier question, and that's nothing. The campus is awesome, It was lit. We toured the football facilities, academic center, baseball facilities, toured campus, watched film. I had a power point presentation done by Coach Franklin, met coaches, players and a bunch of other stuff.

“Penn State demonstrated they wanted me to play QB for them in a big way. I was there eight hours, so I can't remember everything. We talked all day.”

Your issue does not allow you to go to games? Go ahead and end it now.

Per Hubbs

As for this weekend, Tennessee will host 2018 quarterback Justin Fields who is coming off of back-to-back visit weekends to Penn State and Northwestern. He's been a frequent visitor to Knoxville over the last few months and having him on campus once again should be a big plus.

North Carolina is still in the mix and heading into his visits some considered the Vols and Tar Heels the two programs in front but Northwestern and Penn State have closed the gaps. But, Tennessee has a big opportunity to impress and show him the plans they have for him and the future this weekend.

that will all change next year. Im guessing they are letting Fields know just that.

Honestly, I am not sure that it does. Nashvegas31 just posted a good thought in the Tee Higgins thread. He said that he read somewhere that Jake wanted to have an offense with a similar passing attack as Oregon, but Butch wanted to play power football and let him walk. It is almost like our offense is stuck between the power I and spread, and doesn't know which way to go. I'm just not that sure this philosophy changes due to a new QB.
