'18 GA QB Justin Fields

I'd love to have fields but if he does choose somewhere else we essentially through red shirts have our 2017 qb w jones and our 2018 qb w jg

So we're in good shape

So, you're saying let's just allow Dormady to take over in 2017? You said Jones for 2017 above. I would think it would have to be letting Dormady & JG battle it out for starting QB next season.

Redshirt the one that doesn't win the job. Then, use either Jones or Jancek as our backup QB. That way we will have at least 4 QB's heading into the 2018 season even before we get a QB like Fields.

No didn't say that at all. Just that with the 2 red shirts we right now have a very talented 2017 and 2018 qb already on the roster

I'd think jg and sj would both have a great shot. But it's CBC so I'd say older player will get the starting nod

Guarantano is redshirting this year. Being two years ahead, Dormady would use the redshirt in a transfer.

Gotcha. Thanks for clarifying.

Wasn't aware totally that JG was redshirting this year but figured it would happen. Thanks for confirming. :good!:

Bubba Thompson is more dynamic than the Urich kid? I don't know what video(s) you have seen but for sure not what I have seen on both of them. Urich isn't a dual-threat QB for nothing.

Thompson is not that type of QB & much smaller too. We just need to get one of these two for 2017 but preferably Urich until we concentrate more for 2018 & 2019 on a more talented QB like Fields.
Thompson is as Dual-threat as it gets, Tony.

Urich is still better in my opinion. That's my story & I'm sticking to it. :p BTW, you do know that Bubba is listed as a Pro-Style QB while Urich is listed as a dual-threat?

Dobbs was listed as pro-style...fun fact.

I know. They all can be listed in different ways but was just telling him the facts about what is said about them. Urich is truly a dual-threat QB. I see a little of dual-threat in Thompson but not nearly as much as Urich.

Penn State feels it has some momentum coming off that visit. I personally haven't heard that from anyone outside of people close to Penn State's program, but I know the Nittany Lions feel pretty good right now. I'm hoping to catch up with him soon, but I think Tennessee still is right there with Penn State. It's a close battle, though.

Tennessee and Penn State seem to be in the best shape with Fields, as of right now, and the Nittany Lions seem to think they have some momentum. The timing of Trevor Lawrence's decision could be interesting to watch. If he does something any time soon, that could impact Fields to some degree, assuming the team that doesn't land Lawrence goes on to offer Fields. I can't say for sure how much a Clemson offer would impact things with Fields, but it would be something to watch.

Fields was 16-of-25 passing attempts for 172 yards, and he rushed for an additional 101 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries vs Gainesville.

It was the first playoff victory for Harrison since 2008. They play Tucker next week so that is going to be tough for Harrison to keep their season going.

I went to the game last night and he is really good. A few of his incompletions were drops. He doesn't have a lot of help around him and Harrison isn't a powerhouse with a ton of athletes. He was sacked quite a few times because the OL was pretty bad. He throws a pretty deep ball and he is really quick when he takes off to run.

He's visited UGA a ton in the last month and a half and that is without an offer and being a backup plan. Says a lot IMO. My guess is if they end up missing on some guys and offering he commits on the spot to them.

He should be more like Max Wray, IMO, and feel spurned that the instate school has waited so long to offer and still hasn't. I mean after all it's getting very late in the cycle for the 2018 class.

Nah, that only happens to Tennessee.

UGA would not be a good spot for him if he wants to play early. A lot of UGA fans I know that have seen Fromm think he is better than Eason and could beat him out next year. That seems a little nuts, but he is supposed to be really good.

He doesn't seem to be a good fit for what Ga wants to do on offense. Plus you have Eason for 2 more years and Fromm for at least 2 or 3 behind him.
