'18 GA QB Justin Fields

How do you know he won't be a drama queen in the
locker? If so, how? Please show the proof.

Doesnt work that way. I never made the claim. Maybe he will be a drama queen. My stance is there is no way to conclusively say he WILL be based on what has happened with his recruitment.

I would absolutely take him. He is too talented to turn away. But I'm not all that sure he is even seriously interested in us.

Ridiculous. So you are assuming a kid is going to create drama in the locker room based on things that happen during his recruitment? Wow. Thats insane.

Great post. I would also add that when the USC QB decommitted and USC came calling to Martinez he initially had some interest but basically wound up saying "thanks but no thanks" and honored his commitment to UT. We should pay him the same respect and value his commitment.

At some point, loyalty and trust matters.

Agreed. AM could have flipped to the instate school but he showed loyalty. We should return that and tell Fields that we are full at the QB position.

Have you not been keeping up with what's been happening at Florida recently? Not saying that Fields has gotten into trouble like the Florida players did during their recruitment, but simply that what happens while the kid is in high school is somewhat of an indicator of their college career.

If you start dating a girl who has had a history of cheating on her boyfriends, don't be too surprised if it happens to you too. The strongest predictor of the future, is the past.

So a gif instead of a decent retort? Figures. I guess when you have no proof to back your claim, then resort to a gif. Good job.

Avolition said it very nicely in the post above yours. If a person has a history of drama, it is likely to follow them and continue. For the record, I think it is more his dad than him, but if your council is unwise then you are more likely to make unwise decisions.

That better? Are you untriggered?

Ridiculous answer. But whatever. Triggered? Sorry. I am not a liberal.

Okay. You wanted an answer. I had previously stated that I felt his dad would be the major issue but whatever. I like our QB commits and don't see any reason to go after a kid that might end up causing locker room issues because his dad is trying to live vicariously through him and gives him bad advice. If you don't like that answer, I dont know what else to tell you. Grab your crayons and find a safe space?

Good thing you arent in charge then.

Adrian Martinez is as good if not better than Justin Fields. I don't know why you guys always act like the recruiting rankings are always accurate. As if a guy who is ranked higher is necessarily better.

I remember a few months ago before Justin Fields got all this hype I said his tape was better than Emory Jones that just committed to Ohio State. Folks were saying that we were only going after Fields cause we missed on Emory Jones (who was higher ranked at the time). A few months later it's Fields that is now the #1 QB in the country and people are acting the same way about him that they were acting about Emory Jones a few months earlier.

I'll tell you right now I'm happy with Adrian Martinez as our QB. Fields is more of a finished product right now while I believe Martinez still has more room for growth. Who knows, 3-4 years from now Martinez might be the better player.

Wow. Just saw his tape. Very impressive.

Reminds me of a mini Cam Newton. Also some of Dobbs.

I think he's a great get.

IMO he's a better prospect FOR OUR SYSTEM than Emory Jones (who is more pocket passer than dual threat athlete).

I gotta give myself kudos for calling him a mini Cam Newton over a year ago.

Now everyone else is comparing him to Cam Newton that he's the #1 player in the country.

Prophetic Posting.

I am happy with Martinez and Penix. The thing with recruiting is you take the absolute best players you can get. Fields is the #1 rated QB and player in the country. I seriously doubt Butch would turn Fields away. He probably knows better. You think Saban or Meyer would turn him away? I highly doubt it.

Maybe Martinez is better than Fields. Nobody knows that at this point. What we do know is Fields absolutely dominated at the opening and has great stats to back up his ranking. Say whatever you want but IMO, if Fields wants in come NSD, then you let the #1 player in.

He's not coming here though. He had his chance when we didn't have any QBs committed at the time.

If Fields didn't jump at the opportunity then, he sure as hell won't jump at it now considering we have two QBs committed.

I know he is not coming here but just talking about hypotheticals.
