It's pretty dumb. Hey my son is backup QB to another QB being recruited in sEC but you better treat him like a king even though you never seen him throw a pass. At that time Fields was about as known as a peewee football player

That said, sometimes it's very good to know who the backup QB is, sometimes he's the next 'big recruit'. For example, if you don't know who Trevor Lawrence's backup QB is at Cartersville is, you will soon. BIG time prospect.

I can name a couple more big time guys coming that are backup and if someone like can name them, I'd hope someone that works in the recruiting dept can as well, it's their job.

That said, do I think the story is embellished? Of course, journalism is dead.
