'18 GA RB Anthony Grant (FSU signee)

Haven’t said UT is recruiting Grant hard. In fact, Ive been on record saying I believe he’ll ultimately end up elsewhere. Tennessee has continued to recruit Grant while openly evaluating all options at RB. Him visiting this weekend is big for both parties though.

I don't know if he is going to UNC or not, but I am stunned that Fedora is still there. He flat out sucks.

In 2015, he went undefeated in conference and lost to Clemson by 8 in the championship game. I believe there was a controversial call late as well. He has been 1st or 2nd in his division 3 out of 6 years. That will keep you around for a few years at a basketball school.

The re-emergence of VTech and Miami will hurt him.

Grant has much more potential as a strong safety

The above quote was posted in the C'bo Flemister thread, and I wanted to respond to it without hijacking C'bos thread...

But it seems like a common take that Grant will play a position other than RB in college, and IIRC Simonton or someone else at TOS reported we were recruiting him as an ATH.

What I'm wondering is, what changed? The same RB coach who recruited him - and who everyone here acknowledges is very good at identifying running back talent, is still here. And I'll always acknowledge that I'm no scout, but his highlights at RB are impressive.

I guess its telling that he didn't sign on the 20th, yet remained committed. Seems logical that the staff likely told him they also didn't see him as a RB, and he might not be interested in playing something other than RB. Hopefully some clarity comes out after this weekends visit.

Possibly looking at the offensive system that will be run. Maybe Grant fits the spread more than a Pro-set O. RG would be looking for RB's that fit.

I'm not sure what kind of defenses Grant played against. But I do know what Banks played against. If you watch his hudl most of his highlights are against just a couple of teams..

Style thing is more relevant to Pruitt imo. I think he prefers the big downhill multiple carries workhorse.

I'll agree that Grant isn't as big as Banks but, that dude is a load and is a downhill runner too. I'm fine with taking them both.

Well Banks is signed. I think the interest in Flemister is telling on Grant. The fact that he’s still committed and is visiting throws a lot of theories up in the air tho.

I wouldn't mind Grant at RB and/or Safety. The kid is a baller and can help any SEC team, at several positions and soon, imo.

Btw, Grant was 1st team All-State at LB. Probably too small for LB in the SEC, but still a 1st year contributor on special teams and eventually somewhere, obligatory imo

If it's Grant or Hall. That tells me the coaches are wanting him at Safety and not RB
