They brought Chatman and Cross in for OVs.
Anthony can have a chance to be a star as a S or he can have a mediocre to no career as a RB. His mentality and natural reactions are straight forward and to hit hard. He does not try to avoid contact. His natural instinct is to knock the crap out of somebody. He has good quickness, but no extra gear with the ball in his hands. Hope he understands because he has a great opportunity with us if he get his heart right.
Strange. Were the new coaches just being respectful to them, thinking that they were owed something? Grant, I think, is a different situation. in that they think he is owed the respect of an OV while also thinking that there could be a place for him on the team. I am speculating. tifwiw
True but that was the same weekend Pruitt was hired. He didn't set those up.
Thats not true. Those weekends were cancelled until after the hire. Remember that Michael Penix was planning on attending the second weekend (the same one Flint attended) but was waved off by Helton. You could say that proves a point...but Flint was never a take. And they TOLD him that weekend. He was all set to sign early but started looking around instead. Penixs was more a result of them going all in for Shrout and not desiring there to be another perceived QB threat that weekend OR the potential drama if they told the rejected QB face to face. JMO.
He is not fast enough to be a good RB, but hed be a great safety?
"The visit was really good and that was really the goal," said Grant. "I wanted to to get up here, meet the coaches and get a feel for them and I did that. "I feel like coach [Jeremy] Pruitt was very honest and straight forward and I felt like they really wanted me. It kind of kicked things back up with our relationships."
"When I first committed [to Tennessee] I knew the school is great no matter who the coaches are and I knew the fans that love the sport of football are amazing. I knew that something about the place was different, so when all the coaching changes went down I didnt really panic.
"I had to look around some because you just never know, but a big reason I have stayed committed is because of coach G, the running backs coach. We just have a great relationship." "They want me at running back," said Grant. "They talked to me about that during the visit. They said I am versatile and that could use me in many different ways at running back."
Now Grant will visit Florida State. The Seminoles just offered a few days ago and he will now give them a chance. Pruitt made his impression, Tennessee is a school Grant really likes, but this one is still not over just yet.
"My time with coach Pruitt was good and he thinks Tennessee is a good fit for me, but I still have a hard decision to make," said Grant. "I am still committed to Tennessee, but North Carolina, Virginia Tech and Florida State are right there. "All those schools are sitting right there with each other."
