'18 LA TE Glenn Beal (Texas A&M signee)

Taking 3 TEs would be ridiculous, we took 2 last year

I agree but Pruitt uses blocking TE's a lot to help out the OLine and likes pass catching ones too. He either plans on making some position changes or doesn't have much confidence in the ones on campus right now. Eli Wolf has 4 career catches, Austin Pope 1,Bown and Bumphus redshirted this year. Very little is known about the group on campus. I'm sure JP trusts his evals over Butch's and has certain stuff he looks for from his TE's. Also could be a back up if Anderson somehow can't make it in. Will be anxious to see what position changes occur. Bumphus was a wDE prospect also so that is a possibility and thought JP wanted Beal on the defensive side? Could have been people just speculating on that but it had been mentioned.J Jacob Warren would definitely benefit from a RS he's like 6'6 210. Very light for a TE.

Not saying your wrong but keep seeing stuff like this and wonder what is it base on. How do we have any idea what Pruitt likes to do on offense. He’s never had say on an offense.

You know what a coach likes to do from what his mentality on defense or offense is. Also, with him being on Alabama he has seen what has hurt his defense. Furthermore, I would expect that offense to resemble what has given him problems.

We know what helton likes to do by his history and what he has said. Plus numerous articles and vq guys have said it.

JP discussed how he likes to use TE's in his offense that wasn't hearsay. It's also been mentioned several times on VQ. You don't target that many TE's if you don't plan to use them. Just because he's never been a HC to have his own offense doesn't mean he doesn't know the kind he wants to run. Basically if Alabama's offense and USC's offense banged and had a kid our offense would be similar to the result. Can probably throw in a 3way with Brohm's offense as well. One think guaranteed is it won't be the god awful Butch Spread Offense. But in all seriousness JP has discussed what he wants to do on offense and TE's, both blocking and receiving will be big parts of it.

Sounds like he wasn't a take after all. Callahan just changed his CB to TAMU also.

I think after the visit to Texas A&M and the fact he's announcing something today, seems like A&M to me.

Tennessee is pretty tight on numbers and they have two tight ends signed in this class.

The reality is Pruitt's recruiting is changing daily. He's going to have some interesting decisions to make.

Our point in the podcast wasn't about Beal's talent. He talented, but can they afford to sign a 3rd tight end in this class. LSU likes him as well but they have no room for him.

This kid thinks he’s way better than he is and is constantly looking for attention on Twitter. We can do much better with the few spots we have left based on Pruitt’s ability and the updated recruiting board. I can name 15 guys I’d rather have.

Tennessee spent a longtime with Glenn Beal on Wednesday. David Johnson and Brian Niedermeyer went to both the school and home, and while many have ticketed Beal for Texas A&M, the tight end’s recruitment is far from over. Tennessee remains very much in the picture, as his mom attended his OV with the Vols but not A&M. Having Johnson, a New Orleans native on staff, is another chip in UT’s favor. Ole Miss sent most of its offensive staff to see Beal this week and he’ll OV there this weekend. Alabama is also making a push, and could get his final visit. Again, this one is far from over.

Glenn Beal took a trip to Alabama this weekend, too, but Tennessee remains in hot pursuit of the New Orleans native. Beal is shaping up to be a Texas A&M-Tennessee battle unless LSU suddenly has room on NSD.
