It's my understanding the Hurd situation tore the team apart at the seams and Butch wasn't the leader that was necessary to repair the damage. After that season, Butch was done and ready to move on. Tifwiw.
Its my theory and i think the Bowles situation was a watershed moment that split the lockerrom and put a huge amount of pressure on CBJ and the team. It was his first problem and he couldnt handle it. Everything that went wrong stenmed from it.
All those issues were not issues till then. Maybe it was bad luck or karma. I don't know but it did him and the team in.

The Hurd situation happened because of how he handled the Bowles sitch. Like it was mentioned he had lost his edge his decision making and the team.
I agree and have posted it before. I think it was a leadership crisis for Butch and he lost confidence in his own decision making afterward. Amplified his own shortcomings and insecurities that hed been able to overcome through hard work prior.
Am I being trolled or do you legit think Bowles was the catalyst of Jones' downfall? Man alive! Ive read some dumb sh!t on here so nothing *really* surprises me in the way of opinions, but damn newt. You lose big points here. Thats like calling a rat turd a caterpillar. Nah man, its a turd, its just youve convinced yourself its a caterpillar.

From the outside looking in it seems like there was a lot of hypocrisy with Butch. His favorites were coddled and could get away with misbehavior while he basically bullied other players, making their lives very uncomfortable. That's a great way to create division and animosity on a team, and I think that's exactly what we had the last couple of years.
