The narrative used to be that NPA didn't tell kids where to go, presumably because that was against the rules.
Now the narrative is that all the kids they've sent to UT count as some kind of currency that balance the scales?
Seems more than a little contradictory and at least a little inculpatory.
I tend to agree with this. I think they get too much flak for kids going elsewhere. Not too long ago people from Vandy and other UGA schools were complaining that they were funneling kids to UT.
Most likely these things just go in waves.
When that was said the response was essentially that the kid makes the choice and NPA just helps them get where they want to go.
That's great. The way it should be. And if so, they shouldn't be criticized at all. In fact, it sounds like a really great organization.
But then he shouldnt come on here using all the kids who have come through NPA on the way to UT as some kind of trump card in a message board pissing match. Then it starts to sound like not such a great organization.
I didn't really take it that way. I took it as more of a "are you guys seriously saying we're funneling kids away from UT, look at the kids we've produced who went there." Seemed like a rational point-counterpoint to me.When that was said the response was essentially that the kid makes the choice and NPA just helps them get where they want to go.

That's all it was meant to be. No trump cards needed to validate anything. The proof was in the pudding.
Really the only problem I've had with his posts (other than the fact that at times he seems only semi-literate) is airing out grievances some of our current players have had with coaches. That, IMO, should be kept in confidence.
NPA has a vested interest in putting as many kids as possible into college programs. They can't ALL play at UT, so it's best for them to have relationships with a wide range of schools.
when this was said it was due to a question being asked and I answered it. The things we do to help UT in various ways is because we love the university and not because we owe anybody anything.
If days of difference in the timing of an offer to a 2018 guy was the issue, when said offer was like 18 months before NSD, then that is either just a ridiculous degree of butthurt or there is more to the story. If it is the butthurt, I doubt he would last at UT anyway...those guys have always found the exit. If it is not butthurt, then it may have been an evaluation and conclusion on the Wray family's part that may or may not survive the next year. Meaning, that Kirby and his staff may not look so shiny by season end, while Butch and staff may look much more so.
Probably makes sense to not worry too much about Max or his brother, and just see what happens. Of course the freakers gonna freak either way.
