'18 TN OT Max Wray

Lotta bark in this thread.... from both sides

2 years to go on Max. No big deal if we get him or not, we will land a stud '18 OL class with Emil and Cade committed already. Not saying this ones over but also not crushed by it at all, UGA will get theirs out of TN just like we get ours out of GA (come to think of it, just about everyone gets theirs out of GA)

Emil committed already? You just let the kitty out of the bag?

Kid is good. There is plenty of time to turn the tables though. Things will look a lot different around late October/early November.

This hurts....Read JaCoby Stevens' remarks out today on 247.
Wray is already recruiting him, hard, to UGA. They live near one another and are workout buddies.
Wray talks like an Alpha, a leader; someone we need in our tent "spittin out", not outside our tent "spittin in". This now is the same situation we have with Amari Rogers' and Hunter Johnson's efforts to snipe Tee Higgins out of Oak Ridge.
The problem extends beyond our not getting Rogers, Johnson, or Wray; the rub is that these players now morph into antiVols and vigorously recruit against UT. In today's world of instant, universal, and continuous communication...peer recruitment looms large in a outcome. We should all remember how well our own class of 2015 recruited each other. It is a Powerful tool. And it is being used against us now. It may change....I hope it does, because right now this state (according to 247) has seven home grown blue chip (four star or better) players. Two, Rogers and Richardson are already committed out of state. Of the remaining five......Higgins, Stevens, Grey, Smith, and Chandler exactly None of them are even a clear lean to UT.....bad. I know.....I know......it's early. But it is the same hour of the clock for GA, AL, FL, and Clemson and they are getting earlier and Lots better fruit than we are just now. We all want the same things, we want the Vols to rise to an elite level of performance and win championships...lots of them. To get there, we have to be able to beat those teams I mentioned above. And for us to beat them, we have to start by out recruiting them. Sadly, up to now, it's not happening for us.
GBO!

Not sure about the others, but Grey should be committing to us within the next few weeks. He is a very clear lean to us.

It would help if we had kids commit early and recruit other players to the class instead of "enjoying the process" and dicking around.

Thanks for the reply......I used 247 as my source in my post above, they show Grey a 73% FSU lean. I hope you're right. Maybe Princeton Fant can swing him our way.

It's their life, stop being so selfish. They earned this moment, you're just some guy on a message board.

Yeah yeah. The point remains. The more guys here early recruiting the class, the better. It made a massive difference in 2014.

Preston Williams was ~80% crystal ball to UGA, we know how that went. Crystal balls only ever matter when a ton pour in at the same time.

That 80% was to UGA and the other 20% was to South Carolina. Tennessee never did get a CB for him. CB's this early in the process mean jack squat.

Pretty sure that Gray and Fant are Vol leans right now and those who are closer to them say that they have influence over other instate kids.

I could easily see Gray, Fant, Bonds, Hayden, and eventually Higgins committing. That is 5 instate 4 stars. Then we will have to work on Stevens, Chandler, and Smith. Not sure where we stand with Phillips and Eze. I think we will be ok with Butch Jones.

what have the vols done in the past decade? plenty of reasons to go to Georgia. We have a great staff and will be getting a lot of talent. Recruits can see Kirby's vision and his message is winning guys over. the recruiting battles the next few years will be fun to watch for sure.

Especially when it's close to NSD...

If Stevens goes to UGA eventually it won't be because of Wray. Wray just another person in ear. If he goes to UGA it's because of Rico McGraw/Kirby/Tucker combo not Wray. Long way to go on Stevens with alotnof big time recruiters in the game. That one will flip back and forth until he signs
