That's mostly what great coaches do. Hire elite coordinators to run the O and D and the HC spends his time recruiting, making speeches, shaking hands and kissing babies. Let's hope Butch has learned this is the way it works and makes some staff changes and gets the f out of their way.
Dabo learned his lesson a few years in at Clemson. Butch better or it won't end well. If he does, we'll be winning a lot of games.
Young man will feel right at home.Unrelated to recruiting but I love reading about acts of sportsmanship like this:
Coffee County quarterback Alontae Taylor took a knee on the first play from scrimmage against the Siegel Stars on Friday night.
The tackle was credited to Baylor Bramble, the Siegel junior who remains hospitalized at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. The 16-year-old cornerback was flown to Vanderbilt with a head injury after a Siegel football game against Warren County High School last week.
Football players, cheerleaders and referees ran to the center of the field for a prayer vigil after the first play of the game.
Opposing QB takes knee to honor hospitalized player
I have twins in the family and they went to different colleges.
I'm glad he reaffirmed his commitment, but this is the part of the recruiting game that really irks me. If you're "committed" then you should shut it down, and if you're still listening to other coaches and what they offer you are not "committed." Again, glad he reaffirmed but that tells me he was never fully committted in the first place. Anyways...
Butch Jones was at Coffee Co. yesterday. I don't know the exact reason why yet, but he definitely stopped in for a visit. Jim Cheney from Georgia was also there yesterday. Unnamed staff from Michigan are to be there today. FWIW.
