'18 TN QB/WR Alontae Taylor (UT commit 6/18/16)

I guess the fans that wanted him gone a few pages back because of the drama are upset he's coming to the game. SMDH!!!

He's still eh. Full Callahan article shows that.

Very true, as Callahan points out he is not completely closing the door on his recruitment. But, he uses the word "solid" to describe his commitment to the Vols and also talks about helping the staff with recruiting instate players.

Just my opinion, but Alontae Taylor's commitment status does not worry me in the least.

The recruiting sites absolutely adore players like Alontae. It gets them clicks and probably some subs. Still, I think he is enjoying the process and I think that we have to understand that "commit" does not mean the same thing it meant even a few years ago. Ultimately, I think he ends up here and I will be glad if he does.

Everyone should also keep in mind that coaches help to create this "commitment" culture by cutting guys loose close to signing day and leaving them with few options. Since this is how it works, we have offers and committable offers and even if it is a committable offer and the athlete commits, either or both could still change their mind until the LOI is signed.

We all helped create it. Coaches, fans, recruiting sites... We all want information all the time. MOAR INFO!!! So recruiting sites are born. Fans want to know all about the recruits. The recruits get pressured to commit because it gets them interviewed. Then if they decommit they get interviewed again. We eat up with a spoon and then complain about it at the same time. College football fans created this monster and now we don't like it.

It doesn't help that some people feel the need to post a link or an update every time a recruit farts or plays Madden regardless if we have a realistic shot to land them or not. :whistling:

Biggest issue is social media gives a platform to express feeling in open that in past were not readily available. Typical back and forth in a kids head in pat was internal or only shared with Those face to face but now they can just pull out their phone and say something that will make everyone freak

Speak for yourself fella. I admit nothing, deny everything, and blame you!

Oh sure. Just because the plan had more holes than Swiss cheese? Is that a reason to blame the officer?.... oh...nevermind....

Shhh. Just post a funny gif and slowly back away. No one will remember a thing.

How about some self footage?
