'18 TN QB/WR Alontae Taylor (UT commit 6/18/16)

SC Rivals

South Carolina continues to pursue Tennessee wide receiver commitment Alontae Taylor, and the four-star athlete told me this week that he’s “definitely” going to take some official visits this fall, as he’s previously planned. Taylor was on USC’s campus during the spring and said following that visit that the Gamecocks were in line to get one of his officials. Both area recruiter Bobby Bentley and co-offensive coordinator/wide receivers coach Bryan McClendon have been heavily involved here. Taylor’s high school coach, Ryan Sulkowski, served as a graduate assistant on the Valdosta State staff in 2000 when Will Muschamp was the defensive coordinator at the school. USC likes Taylor as a receiver prospect.

He'll mess around all year long but will be a Vol on signing day. Who the heck wouldn't take free trips across the country? Although Columbia SC would be far down my list

There might be reasons for concern as people close to him are pushing him elsewhere. I believe his coach might be pushing for South Carolina and his interest in them is not simply passing.

Butch will need to recruit him to the end as he was really tight with Azzanni.

I actually saw Alonte a couple of weeks ago, he was sporting the UT gear talking about football and how the UT coaches want him to add weight and good muscle. I think he is/will enjoying the recruiting process. Vol!

I believe he really does want to be a volunteer. He is very comfortable with the campus the players and the coaches. I'm simply stating that there are others in his ear that would like him at South Carolina.

Unreal! Why in the world are Tennessee high school coaches trying to push him to an out-of-state school?! Only in Tennessee… Everywhere else would be trying to push them to the in-state school.

My question is somewhat rhetorical, because I know the answer to it most likely… $$$$$

UT needs to recruit the coach as well as the player. Head coach has a history with CWM and might be angling for future job.

Hope Alontae knows what's happening and sticks with his own best interest and heart. He will have a better chance of success both in football and out of it at UT.

There is a reason that suddenly kids from that school took to a camp at USC. Can't ignore signs.

Will muschamp be around in 2 years?

Expectations aren't high in columbia so he should be. As long as he can win 7-8 games a year he will be in Columbia for at least a few more years. They've got a dangerous offense and will be an intriguing team to watch

Sorry that was rhetorical. I do expect him to be there in 2 years (if there's no huge scandal) and then alontae's coach could go to that school
